May Have Made A mistake, please help

Hello everyone, wondering if someone might be able to help me. I ended up going to the training hall and proceeded with everything thinking that what tydus was talking about the journey and not coming home to see my freinds was just that, a long journey and that I could return but not for a long time. I did not know I was going to go 2 years ahead and not be able to come back. I did not complete all the quests I wanted too. Is there any that I can return to finish up the stuff I missed?
