Ranger/Warrior
Trite
I did arena earlier and there was a Ranger/warrior on my team.
Three of us died and all that was left was the Ranger/warrior and she owned the whole other team by herself.
I was wondering if people knew the build that ranger/warrior used? Is there a post in here somewhere discussing this build already? If so, could someone point me in the right direction?
Also, she used a sword and shield instead of a Bow.
Sorry I can't give much info on this, but I know nothing about the build she used.
Thanks in advance for any help I get.

bow user thing
well its rather hard to tell seeing as you dont know much about what they used but they had enough in tatics to use the sheild im guessing so 9 tats 9-12 swords and rest in either expertise or beast mastery for tigers fury..
but i personally LOVE r/w with a hammerusing
devistating hammer
crushing blow
heavy blow
troll ungent
irrestable blow
throw dirt
tigers fury
rez sig
i cant remember the exact attribute spread though..
but if i could think of something with a sword and sheild for r/w it would be
apply poision
sever artery
gash
troll unguent
hamstring(or axe rake lasts longer and you jsut need to switch weapons)
victory is mine
tigers fury/frenzy/flurry
rez sig

My guess would be a condition stacker. It goes like this:
Sword: 12
Expertise: 8+2 minimum
Split your remaining points evenly between Wilderness and Tactics.
Skills are thus:
Sever Artery
Gash
Hamstring
Apply poison
Throw Dirt
Whirling Defense
Melandru's Resilience (E) or Victory is Mine! (E)
Troll Unguent.
You have a choice of elites because other people like using conditions, too. Especially those W/Ns who spam plague touch, MR is really helpful for health regen. On the other hand, if you're facing tough physical or elemental damage (as opposed to mesmer/necro-type degen), ViM! helps to fill your health and energy bar almost entirely with enough conditions around you. You have to keep close to your target for it to work, though.

I'm a R/W aswell. From what I've heard it's good to use, especially for switching between weapons, for long distance use the bows and all and if the enemy aproaches switch to sword and shield for normal questing that is...
I'm now a level 11 R/W and have a health bar of 300, as this is my first charcter I'm not sure if it's allot.
I'm splitting my points in:
-wilderness;
-marksmanship;
-tactics...
-swordmanship

r/w's were really popular at one time and now they're just common. basic idea is use expertise+beastmastery(4) to spam apply poison and tigers fury to keep an increased attack rate 7/10s of the time. much more sutable for hammers but a lot of r/ws use swords or axes. stat allocation is basicly max weapon, tactics for shield, expertises, and 4 beast.

Could you give me a description of what happened? Are you sure it was a sword? Was the enemy getting poisoned? Did you see lots of stances? Did you see him shout "Victory is mine?"
I have an idea as to what R/W build could do that, but I need to make sure.

I didn't see much poison. I just noticed that they were probably using throw dirt because the enemies around the ranger were missing while the ranger healed and killed.

A couple Days ago I was fiddling with a R/W build:
{E} Eviscrate
Exacutioner's Strike
Swift Chop/Thrill of Victory (you're choice, I use Thrill)
Apply Poison
Tigers Fury
Heal Signet
Troll Unget
Res Sig.
Something like...
12 Axe
7 Beast
8 Expertise
7 Wild
8 Tactics
(I used some runes)

i have started to use a build exactly like the one you described and it PWNSS1111! I actually stared using it when i saw the art in the nolani art/craft page which showed a really cool picture of a man in ranger armour wailding a sword. this guy makes his art based on guild wars armour and it looked class so i tried it and it doesnt just look good it kicks ass!

Next time you die and there's someone else on your team still running around, click on that player's name in the party menu and you will be able to see what skills he or she is using. Just a tip.

Hi there all, im new and started playing the game a few weeks ago. I decided on a ranger/warrior and am now level 11. I just read these posts and think I am going about it all wrong! I have been putting lots into marksmanship, and some into beast mastery and then I have like 3 in swords. None of the suggestions on this post seem to suggest putting anything into marksmanship and putting it all into swords/axe. Should i change my points then? Only i am worried I wont do as much damage with my bow if i take out of marksmanship, and then I wont be able to use some of the better bows. I also like having a pet....but I do want to be an effective ranger/warrior. Please help and advise Thanks all

I love Ranger/Warriors, I use them all the time in Random/Team Arena.
Here is a link to build I use most.

But does putting nothing into marksmanship make my arrows less effective? I love the damage i do at the minute with my build - its usually around 81...would this change?

Of course, you can't be great at it all!

Well, I haven't seen a build that uses two weapons to deal dmg, mainly one weapon is used for that. And attribute points do determine the effectiveness of your weapon: at level 12 you have 100% dmg out of your weapon, and I've read in another forum that going above 12 would be useless since you get no more base dmg increase(at least for weapon masteries). Well as for R/W, I changed mine to R/MES but im switchin back (I NEVER KNEW I COULD DO ALL OF THIS CRAP!) Plus I'm poor so I wanna go solo grawl at Port Sledge with R/W. Now any weapon will do really, and are pretty versatile. Can be condition stacker, caster assasinator, or offense on warriors.
