Separation of quests
Zintinix Shoupthalus
When I pick up a quest (I have been picking them up every time I see them and my quest inv is huge) it does not tell me righta way whether it is a primary quest or not...how do I decide if it is a primary quest or not before I either do it or discard it? So far I have done every quest I've gotten, but I'm sick of post-searing ascalon..I want to move on, but I have all these quests to do and I don't know which I need to do and which I don't need to do. Can someone help me?
Thanks!

Well, you can just accept all quests and "abandon" them later if you don't feel like completing them.

Primary Quests have Primary Quest written in green next to them in your quest log.

I really think they need to modify the quest log by splitting each quest into a folder under the area it applies to (much the way WoW does it). It would really help to sift through quests when you have a few from several different areas.

I agree that the current quest log is somewhat lacking in organisation.
Perhaps you should head over to the suggestions forum and see if anyone else has suggested improvement. If they have, you should post your ideas in their thread. If not, make a new thread about it.

As far as I know, you don't *have* to do any quests. The way I've understood it is that missions progress the story and quests flesh out the story. I usually do quests until I can't be bothered or don't have any more, then I do a mission and go back to questing.

If your in a mission, it will say "mission" next to that quest.

If you abandon a quest, can you take up the quest again from the NPC you received it from?

I'd also like to know the answer to this question. I've run into a problem with the "Regent Valley Defense" quest: I've killed the Charr in King's Watch, but the Sergeant is still telling me to run all the way back over there and clear them out. Respawning into the area and re-killing them has no effect. I was thinking of abandoning the quest, but I'm worried it won't get offered again if I do. Anyone know the story on this?

I'm going to have to say that once you abandon a quest you cannot get it back. I came across a problem when doing a quest (I couldn't kill a boss and he couldn't kill me) so I abandon the quest to take it up later and now I can't find the NPC who gave it to me.
The IOU
Acually I kind of had the same thing happen. I looked at a quest and it did not have "Primary Quest" written in green next to it. I did like 2 or 3 steps on it and it TURNED to a Primary Quest.
What's that about or was I smoking?

If the list in your Quest log is really long; complete a few by talking to the person who gave them to you (or whover it tells you to talk to) and get the experience and stuff associated. Completed quests do not appear in your log.
The IOU
Is there like a completed quests section? People who play/played EQ2 know what I am talking about...
Auntie I
No completed quests section. but if you have done a quest the game remembers and it isn't offered to you again. Unless you have abandoned it, I understand that then you can go back and reaquire it. This works for primary quests anyway.

This is incorrect. If you abandon a quest, you can always get it back from the same NPC who gave it to you in the first place. Just because you can't find the NPC doesn't mean he's not there. The only reason that the NPC would not give the quest again is if you have passed up the requirements for giving the quest in the first place. But I don't know of any circumstances when that has happened yet.
I have personally abandoned quests seven or eight times (this is helpful sometimes if a quest is buggy) and have gotten every single one of them back without any problems. You just need to remember who gave it to you in the first place.
