Does no one else have this problem?

Ok, heres my problem: when i'm playing guild wars, I log in, and when it seems its loaded the graphics are weird. Some textures, that ARE there, get bright, like they are there, i can see them, but they are brighter then the textures around them. Like they have a white film covering them. But its different things each time. Allways my characters clothes look like this, but not his skin, hair, or weapon. the roofs of buildings allways look like this. some of the other arcitecture too. I adjust the settings up or down, and it fixes it for a few seconds.

I'm using a GeForceFX5200GO on a laptop that can run Half-Life2 perfectly. I've got the latest drivers, which didn't fix the prob.

If anyone has a solution, or there has been a thread on this, please post it.
I'll try to get a screen shot and post it.

Please help! At least post if there is no solution! Please?

a friend of mine has this sort of problem where his entire character's armor is coated in a white film. I think his problem was from an inadequate graphics card, but that doesn't seem to make sense, since you can run half-life 2 pretty well. hope you can get this sorted out.

Since upgrading my motherboard a couple weeks ago, I was having a similar problem, but only in the Inventory screen. My character's armor (but not face or hair) was also coated in a shiny, white film-like-thing texture bug.

Also, whenever I opened this inventory menu, GW would drop to about 0 frames per second until I closed the menu again... and the game used to crash every 30 minutes or so with a "memory could not be read at adress XXXXX" message. None of this happened on my previous computer, which had the very same video card (a GeForce FX 5200).

Yesterday I've lowered my CPU's multiplier in the BIOS (it was not overclocked, mind you - I'm running it underclocked now...) and the problem went away. I suppose GW just doesn't like Athlon XPs, since every other game runs fine.

I have this exact same problem. i have a GeForce FX 5200 ultra and everything except for some terrain and my character's skin is .. washed out or covered by some wierd white film. like you guy's have said when i mess with the resolution, th eproblem goes away for mabey 30 seconds tops and then comes back. at first, because only certain textures are like this, i thought that the data had been loaded wrong or somthing but i messed w/ it and adjusted things and now i think im convinced that the card is unsupported... which sucks cuz its not a bad card

That does suck. I have had the same comp for close to 1 3/4's, so it might be time to upgrade anyway. thanks to those that replyed though.

It looks like the GW signature "Glow" is going nuts. I wonder if you can turn it off in the option or turn down the graphics settings in GW.

Nah, it looks like a transparent white film over certain things. But at least I can play now, since it runs on my laptop. Which is crap, because it should run on my higher-specs desktop. Whatev, at least i can play now.

You might also check to see if your card is Pixel Shader compliant, and to turn down or off the shadowing features ingame and via your video driver setup.
