Can someone please answer this question? I was making a build with the build-maker over at gwunderground, when I came across Life Attunement. Now, with 5 levels in Protection Prayers, here's what the description for LA says:
While you maintain this enchantment, target ally deals less damage in combat, but gains 126% more health when healed.
It's that word 'more' that niggles. The Guru Skills Listing has the word in there, too.
Now how does this work? Is it 126% of the normal heal, or is it 126% healing on top of the normal healing? One adds up to 126% of the normal heal, and the other adds up to 226% (The 100% of the original heal, plus 126% more). Let's say Orison of Healing, (Healing at 13) heals 71 health. With the 126% method we have a heal of roughly 89 points. But with the second method, we have a heal of 160, which is a giant difference for healers.
Anyway, anyone know the answer?

Although "skill descriptions lie" is something to keep in mind. What that wording would mean to me is that you multiply whatever healing you'd get times that 126%. So you'd get with a maxed Orision 67x1.26 healing or, as you say, 89 health restored.
Adding the healing back on top would be a bonus of 226% more not 126%.

To me, that wording means "Heal x 2.26"
But then again, I've never used it, and skill descriptions can lie :P

Hmm. Seemed to me that if it were the way you were saying it would be 26% more. It's how the word 'more' works, I guess, in my crazy mind. 'more', in my mind, means 'added onto' or something similar, rather than 'multiplied by'. If it were without the word 'more', than yes, I would have come to the same conclusion that you do.
I don't mean to seem like I'm arguing petulantly with you like someone who has a vision of how it's interpreted, and I did ask for your your opinion, so I'm not sure why I'm doing this. (Devil's advocate?) It's probably just a case of lying descriptions again. You're probably right, and this is probably nothing, but it's something I'll at least be checking out come next BWE. Always take skill descriptions with a grain of salt, I know. The more I think about it, the more it seems like that would unbalance things a bit, so I'm probably completely off my rocker on this, and now I've managed to argue myself into a corner.
Thank you anyway.

i think it is as above 26% additional
QUESTION
would 126% added to the original be very over balanced compared to 26% additional
in other words which is more reasonable?

Uthar is right in this case the skill discription is bad for life attunment it should either be +27% or 127% not +127%.
I messed around with a healer that had life attunment and Aura of Faith you stack them on yourself and you can do 150-200 point heals with orson (this is counting lvl 11 divine bonus). Personaly if your going to be using enchantments , having two healers cast lifebond on eachother is better but it was kinda nice to use heal area for a 400 point self.
