Just like there is a Competition Arena that eventually leads to the Teams Arena, why is there no random Tombs option?
It would eliminate the wait to play and might be just as likely to succeed. (Considering how may player drops occur in PUG teams.)
Besides if it was facing other random teams up to a set level of maps, it would even be just as competitive and at least as fun.

How is it "stupid"? If you are teamed against a like team?
You ever play in a PUG? What's different except the time you have to stand around waiting to get a team together??

random teams are kind of like those blind invites you get when in districts. hey, sure you get to play, but a team like that will never suceed. i think anet wants more competitive teams in tombs and teams that dont really care too much about winning in other arenas.

I have a more detailed and similar suggestion in sanitarium. Read my post titled "Random Tombs"
Basically its a seperate random tombs arena like you said, but with a simple party matching process designed to ensure the maximum variety in classes in party. So although its random, it's trying to ensure that every party has as many different classes represented as possible.
Is it "optimal" ? Of course not. Optimal parties often have several monks, or IWAY etc. But since we're facing similar parties, it's fair, and it makes parties more likely to be balanced enough for good gameplay with a variety of tactics available.

free fame? that's if your team wins actually! remember your team is random and can be just as bad! I don't care if they give fame or not but just want the option for massive battles. the competition and team arenas of 4 vs 4 are not as fun as the chaos you run into in 8 vs 8 or the (8v8v8v8v8v8) which totally rocks.
