Yak's Bend
Kilguri
Well, after several attempts to get to Yak's Bend on foot, I've nearly given up hope on ever getting my res spell before level 20
But last night someone told me there's a quest in Piken Square that unlocks Yak's Bend and allows you to travel there on the map. Could anyone direct me to where I can find some information regarding this quest?
Thanks

You can also get Resurrect on your third quest from Gaziden (sp?) who is out in Old Ascalon explorable area. If you head straight out of Sanitarium outpost, up the hill and then take your first right you can find him.
They really should make Resurrect one of the first skills you can quest for. :|

The 'quest' you're referring to is the Nolani mission. Once you finish the Nolani mission (with Prince Rurik) you will arrive at Yak's bend.
I got there accidentally while on the Althea's Ashes quest with some other players, and we decided to mop up the area. We found our way to the Vale, went through it, and wound up in Yak's Bend with 3 finished missions. It was a great journey. Every party member leveled up in the quest, and I started out at an early level 12.

Do the co-op mission at Ascalon.
Then the co-op at Fort Ranik.
Then the co-op at Frontier Gate.
Then the co-op at the Ruins.
Then the co-op at Nolani.
Bingo, your at Yaks bend.
Their not all that hard, just time consuming.

what exactly is the coop mission at ascolon that gives the ressurect?
Arri
its not a cooop mission..you find grazden the protecter at the remains of Ashford and do his quests, then the third one you do the reward will have resurrection in it.

As for Yak's Bend, I had other arrangements to make there and decided to give the road trip another try. Got up to Nolani on foot before I logged off, and it was mucho fun, I'd recommend everyone doing it just for the hell of it. As for the missions, I'm only on the third atm, but will have to get back to them once my journey to Yak's Bend is over [soon! soon!]

Man, the journey to Yak's bend is very arduous. I don't think I'll ever forget the plight of 3 guild members and I, as we take strides towards our goal of Lyon's Arch. Friday night we spend nearly 3 hours going from AC to the Nolari Academy. It was a great run, but man, we were really drained after it.

I can imagine the physical drain you had going that distance, and I can also imagine the tough time you had with low-level armor and weapons taking that trip, unless you did it at higher levels just for a challenge. I may do that once, I get to level 20, it's a great way to gain materials, just make sure you have a couple scavenger kits with you when you go, or you'll run out of space very quickly.

If you just want to reach Yak's Bend then do the missions and you will end up in Yak's Bend at some point.

Just an FYI, it's far easier to do the missions with henchmen than it is to walk to Yak's Bend.
You also get much more experience.

All I hear about is Yak's bend, what exactly makes it so popular?
Only lvl 9 here so haven't been that far yet

The missions are harder, better henchmen. Everything in the game gets harder from here on out, but the rewards are alot better, and the loot is better also. You start to find the good weapons, salvaged items and what not. Im having a blast there, unfortunately, im at work now
socke
and you get the super salvage kit for the first time.

Thank goodness..
IMHO the drops before yaks bend are thoroughly crappy, I was wondering where everyone was getting their good stuff. Looking forward to getting there tonight. I'm at work now too, so it sucks LOL

Thanks alot for that, tonite I will be back to Fort Ranik to woop on some charr
You are just meaning to go there and just farm charr right?
sadrobot
last night i tried to get to yaks bend myself at lvl 8. i got pretty far i think but then ran into a group that i had no chance of beating. all i remember is that it included a lvl 10 hydra and it killed my group of henchman fast (i ran )
Rizzen Khalazar
Yeah, those hydras are mean. But the hencies in yaks bend can stand up to them

I recommend referencing this Salvage Guide because knowing what rare items come from where will save you a LOT of money in the long-run

Thanks Caelib,
Will print out that info

what lvl did everyone get to yaks bend. i am now lvl 9 but with just the points henchmen i dont think i can make it
Zai
Should be no problem at level 6 with the henchmen, that's if you do the missions. If you try walking... good luck, you may need to real players to help all around level 8-10. I tried once and got owned by a group of 8 level 8 charr, and it gets harder. As I said before it is much easier to do the missions.
Rizzen Khalazar
I got there are lvl 13, all solo mind you. But, I need the henchmen now for the missions in Yaks bend, but that could be cause my armour and weapon really sux
Since I know how to get the fur now, I will work on that tonite to upgrade my armour, no rush to level for me, and hopefuly a weapon will follow.

main reason i want to go is for materials too (steel) but also cause it is a cool play. also what missions send me there. i only have 3 right now and 1 of them is to hard (fires in the north i think it is called) up till those hydras i can go there walking easy with henchmen
Rizzen Khalazar
I am not 100% sure on the missions. Just keep doing the primary ones and you will get there. I done all the other missions aswell, dont like leaving without doing them
Zai
Missions are not quests. Go up the stairs in town by the guild guys and out the exit in the back. It leads to an area like a town, but your party window will now have a mission button. Get a full group, henchmen or players, and click that button. It's a very complex quest that advances the story and rewards you with 1000exp. These missions are what get you through the game. There's a quest that leads to that area beforehand, usually any quest with a green "primary" next to the name is something you should do to advance the story and get to the next mission, everything else is just fluff, but still fun to do.
sadrobot
oh man oh man. i have yet to do any of those. the only thing with enter mission is the arena. wow i love you. alright im sorry for that that was uncalled for but oh man....

Sadrobot, the areas that give missions are Fort Ranik, Northern Wall(described earlier, go up the stairs in Ascalon City), A spot up north of Northern Wall that I can't remember the name of, and Nolani. The nolani mission takes you to Yak's Bend. There are others, I know, but these are the ones that take you to where you're going.

Sadrobot, this game is going to be an awful lot more interesting now that you know about missions. They're kind of... central to the game.
