I have yet to get in on a GW Beta event, but I have ordered my pre-order copy and Ill be there in March!
My question is: How does the "world" differ in GW versus WoW (for those of you that have played both)?
I am currently playing a 10-day user trial in WoW with a friend of mine and I do like how the worlds are "always" connected. This means that in going from one city to another, or one area to another, you have to walk there. In Guild Wars I've heard that its click and your there style? What does this mean exactly (I know you have to form party's / teams and then you do a quest or and area)? Is it you looking at a screen with 5 different location click chances and then "woosh" your there? If thats true at all, that seems a little like a console game and not really like a "real" world.... Again, I havent played yet and I am just going off what Ive read on forums, and that is why Im looking for clarity.
Cant wait for March 18!! Will maybe see you on!

Guild Wars versus WoW in terms of Worlds

Well you first have to discover an area before you can transport there. This generally means either completing missions which will open up the next mission or exploring through the explorable areas which will open up some new worlds for you. You can pretty much walk to any area of the world should you desire or after you've found them you can just click on them and transport there.
I think it's the best of both worlds. I can explore and find things should I want or if my buddy is all the way across the world and we want to group, one of us just instantly transports there.

i dont think "worlds" is the right term since it is used to refer to a very different subject. if you are asking about transportation, you have the choice to run almost anywhere in the game if you wanted to. however, like WoW, you will reveal more of your world map the more you explore.
i personally like not having to pay for gryphon rides and waiting 5 minutes to get there..

I got bored of WoW myself and I'm not sure how good any of their upcoming PVP Honor system or battlegrounds are gonna be, but I do know one thing. Ever since I found out about Guild Wars and started reading about it, it's had everything I've ever wanted in a MMORPG-like game and more. Can't wait.

Yeah, I can't wait either. What they did was look at all other MMORPGs and made it better. Really want to play....
