So, here is a quick update on this sword: I assumed, like many of you, that 1 million is the proper buyout for this sword, and originally asked 125 ecto.
However, if we accept as true that the value of an item is dictated by the market and is nothing other than what a willing seller and a willing buyer are mutually agreeable to echanging it for, this sword is worth in the neighborhood, I think, of 200 ecto. I know a few people in this thread are interested in purchasing it and have talked with me via PM and in game, I have 3 people who have pled for time to accummulate whatever I want for it, and several who have talked about pure ecto offers (my definite preference) in the 175-200 ecto range. Even so, no one wants to over pay and the only person who has actually literally placed her bid on the table (i.e. trade window) is a farmer who was willing to give absolutely everything she owned, totalling roughly 1.4 million in gold, ecto, rubies, a plethora of perfectly modded req 8 max damage 15>50 weapons (halfmoon, and so forth) and a litany of other perfect mods.
So I guess the reason I am posting here is as fair warning to everyone: I am selling this evening when I get home from work for that offer or the highest actual ecto offer people want to make. I will consider an ecto offer over 150 ecto as superior to the item offer, as I do not relish the thought of liquidating all those perfect weapons in this game economy, but they should at least sell quickly for the low value I expect to get out of them. So, if you actually want to bid, this is the time to do it and stop talking in abstractions or about being willing to pay 200 ecto in a week when you can get your ecto from a guildmate (a common "bid" I have received).
I don't mean to be rude, but I do want to be fair to everyone and give people a reason to decide what they are really willing to pay before this one is gone.
