So I finally ascended with my first character yesterday (Me/N), and picked up my first elite, Mantra of Recovery, from the crystal desert. I'd like to create a fun build that uses it --mainly for PvE right now, since I won't be doing PvP until I've fully upgraded my armor, and got a few more skills and elites.

Fast casting is perhaps not a very practical attribute, especially for PvE, but I find it to be a lot of fun, and tend to have at least 7-9 points in it.

So I was trying to come up with a build designed around Mantra of Recovery. At 16 fast casting, my spells will recharge twice as fast for 21 seconds.

Now it seems I would run out of energy very quickly firing off spells non-stop. However, if I try to pick energy management skills, this might not be such a problem. For example, a skill that hurts the enemy, returns me energy, and has a long recharge time, would benefit the most from this. For example, Shame and Guilt both can return energy, and have a 30 second reset time.

So the build would be something like:

Mantra of Recovery [Elite]
Shatter Hex
Shame
Guilt
Energy Tap
Empathy
Cry of Frustration (this skill is just plain fun)
Chaos Storm

I would try a max energy setup with this (so enchanter set and an insightful staff), rather than the rogue set and +defence mods.

I figure at the beginning of a battle, I could empathy a melee mob, shame and/or guilt casters, energy tap, and then empathy another mob.

I'm messing around with this idea in my mind too (but for PvP). Mantra of Recovery + hex mesmer = ...lots and lots of hexes everywhere?...perma backfire...lots 'n lotsa diversion...soothing images all over the place...not to mention twice the drain enchantments...shame...mark of subversion...phantasm to cover it all...

...energy will be a problem...i dunno...maybe its worth a BiP?...in any case...it just seems to me with this skill you can lay out the hexes thick and fast as the situation calls for it. No way will they be able to remove all this.

...I'll have to put something together...
