you got all the spyware programs, but u need adware programs.

A good Tool is Ad-Aware. Google it, i think theres a trial on there website. Its a real good well know tool, sorts all my problems.

Good Luck

Spybot is also good.

And for a note Ad-aware is free on lavasoft.de.
If you want the pro edition you need to pay though.

Spywareblaster
its free, get it, update it, enable all protection and close it.

if you want best there is you should use these:

Antivir : NOD32 ($$$)
SPyware : AdAware(free), Spywareblaster(free), (+Spysweeper$$$)
Firewall : Sygate or Outpost ($$$)

if you think youre running something that shouldnt run, use this:
HiJackThis

ohyeah, and get that LimeWire away from your puta, it sucks.

There are some good suggestions for you here. I am going to look at a few myself. I use Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot. Between the two I get rid of most problems. What Ad-Aware misses Spy-Bot gets and visa-versa. I also use Norton Internet Security 2005. It has a Pop-Up blocker and a spyware blocker. You also can add Google's toolbar with a Pop-Up blocker.

You also want to get rid of RealPlayer. That thing is almost considered malware in the anti-spyware community. Read an article here about it.

RealPlayer displays popups, has been known to package spyware with the installs in the past, and even tries to secretly phone home after disabling all of the phone home options in the player options itself. RealPlayer displays ads, popups, and reports webpage browsing statistics, video/audio file statistics (such as what you have on your playlists, recently played items, etc) back to RealOne Networks, and installs copy protection software that can lock you out of using any media files associated with RealPlayer.

All in all a crappy program.

Get rid of it ASAP and install the spyware free RealAlternative from here.

If you need any help using Hijack This! or other programs, feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.

How much do you use IE compared to Firefox? And how much pr0n do you download each day?

You shouldn't be using IE except for windows update, that's it.

and, when's the last time you did a virus scan?

Spyware blaster is awesome. Problem is, it doesn't delete spyware that's already on your computer. But it will block a hell of alot of it from infecting your computer again. And the best firewall is a hardware NAT firewall, i.e. most routers nowadays.

That's also the laziest solution and the most time consuming, not to mention hassling.

I use:

-FireFox for Web Browsing

- McAfee Virus Scan Professional (I hate norton, and it doesn't catch crap that McAfee does, I don't care what Norton fans say. However, Norton's online database is pretty good.)

- Spybot Search and Destroy

-AdAware SE

And not a lick of spyware on my comp.

I have no spyware on my pc too but im not usin any of the softwares right now...Im the most paranoid person u can ever see im not even clickin the link that my closest friend sends, i have no business about any e mail ( hate emails ) just usin messenger .

you're not running any harmful processes....at least not any that are shown in the screenshot.

Don't attempt to run Hijack This unless you know what you're doing. Many many people have destroyed computers using that software. It's a piece of software built for administrators to clean workstations....it's not even a little bit user friendly.

p.s. get rid of America Online...they're the anti-christ.

p.p.s firefox is easily the biggest piece of shit the internet has ever seen.

I would suggest not even useing programs like Kazaa I download a couple of songs and eventually ended up with loads of spyware on my system that my games just kept crashing on load up.I used all my spybot.adware,Avg and did a tend micro scan nothing worked.I ended up haveing a virtual scan done on it and had it all cleaned up.There is really nothing wrong with IE infact it better sometimes becuase of the active x and not everyone updates FF.I use both but if I am really wanting to serf I will use IE I only use FF for certian sites I go to like this board.

There is no need to format your hard drive that often if you know how to take care of it in the first place. I've been running my current install for about 2 years. Then again, I know more than the average user, and I don't fill my hard drive with crap/virii/malicious programs/etc., know how to edit my registry, so on and so forth.

Just a friendly tip: Learn how to use "netstat -a" from the command prompt. It will list all active network ports on your PC... anything you don't recognize could be a spyware flag. Google for these port numbers to verify each port's reason for being listed.

Here's why I do to blast out spyware & adaware from systems.

Download and install and update to most current version (all of the below)

Ad-Adware SE - http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-...ml?tag=lst-0-2

Spybot Search & Destroy
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Searc...ml?tag=lst-0-1

and Microsoft Anti-Spyware (for windows 2k users or higher)
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx
(and make sure you change and "gator" setting from ignore to remove..)

Make sure all of them are completely up to date (with there def files)

Reboot your pc in windows safe mode. (Hold down the ctrl key right after the memory test or try F5 or F8 - forgot which)

Run all three products (only 1 at a time) and clean up the system.

Each product has it's own strength's and weakness against certain types and by doing all three you pretty much get everything. Scanning within safemode helps a great deal by being able to get to ad-ware/spyware that normally "locks" files when windows is running normally that you can't get access to easily.

I've heard about Spyware Blaster but I though it was more of a "preventive" program which is a good thing.

I love firefox but it is a memory hog .. it leaks bad .. you may want to consider Oprea web browser now that it's free / no ads http://www.opera.com/ or give maxion a try, I've heard very good things but never used it myself.

I agree with the hijack this as a last resort... it awesome tool but you can kill windows required process as well as the spyware you are trying to disable...

This one cracks me up!

You mean the exploit that was fixed several months ago before it affected anyone?

"Proactive security update fixes bug prior to any known exploits"

"Wever and Ferris have kept their exploit code private, and no attacks that take advantage of this flaw have been reported."

Did you even read any of those articles?

I don't really have anything against Opera (except that it's closed source), but it's better than IE. Firefox is simpler, easier to use, has more support, and is very customisable.

I've been using it since the beta and I don't have any traces of spyware, viruses or adware on my PCs. But the main reason I love it so much is because of the HTML and CSS support, because I'm a web developer, you see. Oh, don't forget the very useful extentions.

I recommend anything that doesn't come from IE.

Sorry but I had to rant.

no..I didn't read any of them. And that exploit was well known it just didn't have any reported incidents. Anyone looking to exploit a web browser knew that exploit existed. The purpose of posting that link was to show how MANY exploits firefox has had in the past. Do the same search for Opera and all you find is links talking about how secure the browser is and how little it is exploited. Firefox is a memory hog and a security problem. It's an awful browser. The fact that firefox IS open source is the root of it's exploitation problems. Firefox is my best friend...anyone running it is a sitting duck.

I wouldn't put any stock in anything backed by AOL....that's just being stupid.

All web browsers have flaws, IE has the most and is most vulnerable. This is mainly due to they way Ms integrates features & has the largest market share so it's the biggest target.

Firefox and Oprea both have vulnerabilities but due to there lower market share there less targets. I personally love fire fox with it's extensions but I do admit it leaks memory over time. Opera is a good alt because it's free now and not a bad browser.

The reason there more safer is for the reason why IE was made and target. As they get more popular they will have hacks against them. IE just has way more frequently and take longer to fix. There is no 100% safe browser out there.

Here's what you should do, Try Firefox (only) for a week, Oprea (only) for a week, and any other browsers out there. Use the one you best like even if it's IE.

Firefox is my choice. Using an alt browser that does not support active x is good if you surf a lot of sites and be safer from spyware/malware installs but see my above statement.

Spyware Doctor, but buy it so you can get the full version.
The full version is fantastic, I know the guy who owns PCTools, so he gave me a free registration key And I haven't used another Spyware Program since.
Wow... I sound like one of those people on TV that they interview, that say they haven't been paid, but so obviously have.

Also, you might want to put your Firewall on, or turn it's security up a notch.

And not the Windows XP firewall either, that thing sucks. Get a real firewall like Outpost, Sygate, etc.

PS- Any browser based on IE is really just an IE shell theme. It still has all of the underlying vulnerabilities that IE has on WinXP, since Microsoft was stupid enough to integrate IE directly into the OS, giving it full permission to do what the hell it wants in the system. Hence why IE flaws, even minor ones, are far more serious than in a non-integrated browser.

Partially disagree with you, XP built in firewall is very basic but offers some protection. The nice thing is, it hardly conflicts with other running firewalls. I run XP firewall + Sysgate Personal edition and I'm behind a NAT router... hmm that makes me a bit parnoid doesn't it Xp firewall runs nicely with the free version of ZoneAlrarm to. I do agree to not rely Xp firewall by itself.

XP Firewall is worthless because it has no egress filtering. No egress filtering means you are pretty much wide open to anything.
