I feel like making a illusionary weapon mesmer for PvE, and i could swear that at some point in the past i've had my hands on a sword with the attribute '+33% attack speed, -67% damage', which would do me well, but unless i'm insane, i can't find it anymore, it may have been a quest reward.
Can find ranged weapons with it, but no melee, so, i'm either insane, they've been removed at some point, or my searching skills aren't what they once were.
Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

I don't think he's meaning to refer to a weapon, but instead a warrior skill. I think the name of it is flurry, but it increases attack speed, yet reduces your damage. Other than that, I have yet to seen a weapon that has reduced damage...

I've Never seen any weapon with a +33% speed modifier or a - damage mod. I'd love to see if these even exist currently. My guess was they were in the beta at some point like someone mentioned, but obviously got took out.

And no, it wasn't during beta-testing since I've only played this game a couple of months.
Its a quest reward item if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not after a warrior skill.
There ARE weapons with this mod currently in the game, for 1 example, walk just outside serenity temple, and talk to the collector there, he offers a bow with the attribute.
I know there is a cane with it as well i found in my searching yesterday. Can't recall where now though, but it exists ... somewhere in the old ascalon region.
Because of how it might interact with IW it makes some sense to me i could be insane, but my brain is insisting that i've had a sword with the mod before, and i wasn't around during beta so it couldn't have been that.

In fact he offer's both a Cane & a Bow.. both are +33% damage, -67% attack speed. So yeah, go grab those for uber fast attacks I don't believe I've ever seen a weapon with +33% attack speed bonus on it, +33% damage sure.. but not attack speed bonus. You also have to note that ANet have changed the collectors - they have removed some as well as changing what each collector offers.
Like the cllector outside Sardalec Sanitorium used to offer a Diessa Shocking Flatbow, 9-13 damage, 15>50 (iirc), +5 energy.. it's now a 11-18 damage, 15>50 & 10/10 Sundering bow

i wouldnt say that it doesnt exist. i know for a fact i ran into a collector with a staff that had:
-10% damage
-10% damage
+10% attack speed
it was in a lower level area and it was a staff. but who's to say there aren't other weapons out there similar that have high %'s on them?

Ah yeh, the nice fire wand outside of nolani, indeed ... +10% attack speed. Still, wouldn't surprise me at this point if its not on any melee weapons.

Sure it is +10% atatck speed... but it also does 10% less damage and gives you a 10% chance to miss every time you attack.. pfft! and with a base damage of 4-7... yer not going to be doing much damage with it! although the +5 energy on it is nice for a spell-slinging elementalist... thats the only reason I'd consider that wand.. for the energy..

Its nice currently purely for the +5 energy. Good for any class.
Not all classes care about the damage aspect.
And if you can't aquire a nice +5 energy max damage wand .. then this is a nice, cheap substitute until that time.

Cagan - I agree about the not caring about the damage aspect. iirc I used that particular fire wand on my elementalist for a time because that +5 energy was a great help. Heh, and heck.. I might just grab if for another character i'm twiddling around with.. that bonus energy could help out.. heh
Actually, don't know why I bothered pointing out the bad damage on it since it's completely irrelevant to a IW mesmer.. LOL I'll keep an eye out for any +attack speed weapons for you.. you'll want them on swords or axes though.. but problem is I'm not sure if you can find any sword/axe with a +attack speed mod on it...

eh? .. what do you mean fake swords? Right now there doesn't seem to be anything definitive suggesting they don't exist, they probably don't, but curiosity and desire is enough for now.
