Wow still no use for rubies/sapphires

I can't beleive it, on the new update they didn't have anything for rubies and sapphires yet. I was kinda dissapointed, i was saving hopeing (spelling) there would be a use for them. And now the prices on them have gone down so much! I'm thinking in the expansion, that there will be a use for them so guys i would stock up before there gone. But does anyone have an suggestions on what they might be used for? rumors?

remember that chapter 2 will be CONTENT without having to do the engine or all the artwork from scratch.

the foundation is in place and being reinforced if you will to hold what is coming in the next chapter.

I remember reading that you'll be able to craft pokeballs out of them and then when you see a monster you might want to have/train/control/send your opponents' way (perhaps one of those titan bosses that spam Well of Suffering), you chuck it at him. You might want to poison and weaken and blind him first, so he is in bad shape and can't escape.

Also I hear the next expansion features Batman. He gives you like 50,000xp quests but then when you're about to do them he swings down from nowhere and does the quests on his own, right in front of your face. Then he calls you a n00b and swings away.

And did Anet actually say there was definitely 100% going to be a use for sapphires in the SF update??? Don't tell me...the frog said so.

And according to people, the frog DEFINITELY promised merging Europe & US for WaW, storage in guild halls, toggleable capes, new FoW armour, and a free gold max Crystalline with perfect mods to the person who collected the most rubies too.....

Sorry mate, but you shouldn't be so gullible. The point of the frog speaking in riddles is to give a hint, but not give too much away. People just took what it said and twisted it into what they wanted to hear.

As for stuff said in interviews, ever noticed how they're just saying "We're looking into it..." Where does that translate into "It's definitely coming in the Summer Update?

Finally, while I hate to spill the beans on a Guild Wars fansite myth, Gaile Grey doesn't give too much away because for the most part, she doesn't know exactly what's coming next either, and is about as much in the dark as we are. She is a PR for the devs. She acts as a go-between and tells the devs how we're reacting to the game, and in return, can only offer us juicy titbits of info, just like the frog. She cannot answer questions about info that she's given out to us, because she doesn't know.

There - I said it. Gaile Grey is not onmipotent. (Perhaps she'll be relieved now that the cat's out of the bag)

And anyone complaining about the update, that it didn't have this, that or the other should learn the difference between stated fact and unconfirmed rumour.

BTW, this isn't a Gaile Grey putdown. As a PR, she's doing a great job in keeping us guessing as to what's coming. Just don't expect definitive answers from her.

the frog never said that any of those things would come in the SF update. he/she/it said soon. this could be conventionally soon or geologically soon.
the toggable capes was promised for the update involving observer mode. i think.
didn't read anywhere about merging EU and US though... that would be a bit silly. considering how many europeans feel towards americans and americans attitude towards the rest of the world.

anyway. do rubies and sapphires have any use in real life? nope. they are a way of saying something about yourself. maybe you could incorperate then into existing armor to make them shinier and more expensive looking though.

You misread his post, then called him names.

He said that many Europeans take issue with Americans and American's attitude toward the rest of the world. You just assumed he was taking a shot at Europeans, rather than looking at the structure of the sentence and realizing that in this case "their" must refer to the most recently mentioned group - US citizens.

oh sure isolated europeans on the american servers get on fine but many people have a highly inflated sense of national pride, to the extent of 'screw america'. i know this is the case where i live. not sure about your area.

a merge of servers would, i think, result in long and annoying arguments along the lines of ------ bush is a ------- -------!!!1!!1!!!11. and corresponding counter arguments. not at all constructive IMO.

Why oh why do we have to bring this kind of ignorance into a game of all things. We have enough hatred in the world to go around without having to bring it into something that is supposed to be FUN and entertaining and instead becomes a "my country is better than your country bashing".

The fact that someone speaks a different language than you should have no bearing if they can play the game or not and we have to turn it into an arguement.

If you hate France, Germany, Korea, the USA or little green men from mars then you are free to think that way but it does not entitle you to be a total jackass about it and insult the country where someone else lives.

If you don't want to be in a party that can't speak your language there is a simple fix for that, click that little button that says "Leave" or "log out" you are always free to find another party, exercise that right.

i personally have no real beef with anyone. i'm not bringing in 'nation bashing'. i was simply pointing out an example, that i knew, that highlighted why servers should not be merged. i have no beef with americans. i do, however, have a beef with people who patiently say that their country is better than yours, as if it is a self evident truth. i have encountered a number of americans who have said this to me. i have come across one brit who thought i was american and did the same.

arsemongers exist everywhere, it is a universal problem.

unless u can wait like 2 -3 months (which is probably going to be the next update), u should just sell rubies+Sapphires =p
