This stuff makes me mad... people who don't even speak english that play on our american servers... why would they do that? Like for example i had a guy yesturday he was a monk, and he was like italian or something, or new the italian language and didn't speak english. He was quiet the whole game (we were in fow getting to forgemaster) Then suddenly i said warrior go aggro that group then the warrior did but then the italian guy ran into the whole thing and lured it back to us and we all died. Then we got mad and of course he didn't know what we were saying, so he left. It's the same exact thing with sellers when they are selling something, u ask them like what is b/o and they don't reply and then later they say "i speak no english" does anyone else have this problem. it pisses me off. Im not saying that european people or whatever can't play on our american servers.. It's just the ones that don't speak english that gets me mad and i bet other people.

Well, some Guild changed to US servers cause there is more going on, better chance for trade, etc. With such guilds usually come some along that can't speak english.
On the one side you can't blame the guild, on the other side you can't blame those who can't speak english.

I go to the international districts all the time if there aren't enough people around in American districts to form a good team with. Last week I was in groups speaking Croation, French, German, and Italian, and none of them seemed to have a problem with me speaking English. Lets take this as an opportunity to meet some other people instead of trying to keep them off our servers when they're trying to find some people to play with!

He's not talking about foreign language speakers in the international districts. He's talking about them playing on the American servers, where the vast majority speak English. Last weekend I played prot for Ronin Blade. I think they are German, but I can't recall. Today I played with another guild [LRS] that was French. I got both of those groups in the Int'l Districts. However, they did use English most of the time I was on their TS.

there are several reasons that people do this.

the Euro servers in the last coupel months have had a terrible lag and problems with err=7's

there is also the problem of all the districts in europe ie the french. german etc. it is hard to find a group in the dist. you are in.
pretty much no mantter what time you are on in US server you can find a group in any town or outpost.

I for one do not care if others who are having a hard time in their home servers switch to the US servers. after all A-net out in that option for a reason.

I say if they have more fun and if they have a better game play experience the let them play on US server all they want to.

no one of us should be able to say different

I thinks its nice people can go wherever they want, and seemingly never have a problem. Sure there are a few weirdo scabies monkeys but then again if you dont speak german "Neuer Kerl" wont offend you. I have played with lots of Germans, i speak alittle they speak alittle english, its fun and "spreads the love".

"Our servers"? well i am english, i call a trunk a boot, a sidewalk a kerb, and garbage, rubbish. Does that mean we speak the same language?

People speak l33t calling people things i havent even comprehended let alone know the meaning of. Its a melting pot, not a segrigation tank. people get on peoples nerves for the smallest of reasons, EAT U, my advice would be notch it up to experience and forget about it.

dont forget favor

many of the good players went to US server because US had favor slightly more often...

after that we had favor even less than before (all good players already on US server)

so the lesser players (me :P) also came because we want to play uw/fow too

lately euro is getting more favor again tho, but there's still the other advantages of US server

-less lag
-everyone speaks english (for ppl from f.e. The Netherlands its no problem to speak english, but german/french is harder for most)
-The different districts on Euro server
it was a mistake by Anet imo to start all these french/german/italian/spanish districts, there is less and less ppl at any time to quest with, also trade is getting more and more hard (especially off hours)

i personally mostly play late at night 0-4am, and so far i'm enjoying the game much more on US server (eventho there's also a lot of stupid ppl, but we had those on euro too )

now... I'm confused... many american citizens do not speak english... yet they live there... Is it so wrong for them to play GW on american servers? Or for that matter, anyone else in another country? Personally I don't see the big deal. English is NOT the only real language out there. Maybe you need to broaden your own little horizon.

I wonder if there is any corrolation between America having the Favor AND Lag, and all of Europe on our side of the water.

Think about it. Maybe before a slight imbalance in favor. So they flood over here. Well duh, we're going to have favor more now, because we have more people!

none

in my opinion most american server people trade and collect(2/4 trade/collect, 1/4 pvp, 1/4 pve) and non-american server ppl PVP(reason why theres much better ppl in Int-1 then american-1.

Well, I've moved from EU to US servers for a time to be able to play (and also farm) UW and FoW...

I believe Favor is the main reason for EU players to play on US servers...

Should we also ban US citizens who cannot speak proper English ? May be we should show our TOEIC scores to enter "your" sacred American server or the International districts.

you can't do proper business in this world without knowing English...it's a sad fact. English is the universal language.

ArenaNet needs to fix the WaW concept...it doesn't work. Europe shouldn't be locked out of the only end-game material simply because they don't have guilds that can hold the hall. It's an asinine attempt to link PvP and PvE...it doesn't work.

i think you guys are missing the point.

obviously, there's nothing wrong with non-americans migrating to the american servers for whatever reasons. the problem is when these people don't speak the least bit of english.

when instructions and group decisions are made in game, it's important that everyone understands. in the OP's case, 1 person did not understand, and his 1 mistake cost the whole group.

i guess this is true of noobie players as well, but at least they can understand when someone says "stop!" or "wait!"

Oh, and to the OP, punctuations are your friend. as well as line breaks and spacing.

First: America was created by people from many lands wanting to pursue freedom and happiness. America is what it is due to the fact that ANYONE is welcome to come here in pursuit of his dreams. Yes, English is the most commonly spoken language in America, but not a requirement of its citizens.

Second:Unfortunately many Americans who complain about people who don't speak English, don't even speak English well enough to pass a High School grammar exam. Just read through these forums for examples. Try even copy/pasting replies to Microsoft Word and run a spelling/grammar check.

So how does the TS feel about the spanish being spoken on the US servers?

Last time I was on the US server I saw more public & trade chat in spanish then in English, at least the EU servers are language labeled and not just by continent.

Btw, we in the EU welcome ALL players, not just the ones that are proficient in our native language.
I'm dutch but my command of the english language is fairly decent, I regularly play with people from all over Europe, from Russia to Italy to Turkey without much of a language problem. Sure, their english isnt great but we make it work, maybe you should try it sometimes instead of complaining about a foreign language on server where the majority doesnt even speak their native language proficiently.

I'm still on the euro server... contemplate changing every day though, mainly to get a group.

But lag on the euro server and numerous err=7? er, never happened to me - rarely lag and I have never had an err=7 and have totalled about 500 hours

Things I don't like about Euro server is there are too many languages - the district seperation is fine, and regardless of what people say there are a lot of people in english districts - however, a lot of the time this is because say.. the German's district might be empty so they move over to the english one.... as a result it's no longer an English speaking district - Europe covers a nice amount of timezones but due to language problems it prevents Europe from holding halls - that said, Korea seems to be having it worse now, not seen them with favor for a long time
