For those that don't know, depending on the rune more money can be made by selling the rune armor, and not the rune by itself.

For example I sold a Minor Marksmanship for 200g to the Rune Trader
But then again I sold a Minor Healing Prayers only worth 25g for 86g to the normal trader.

Just check before you sell, Lion's Arch is the best place of this due to the proximity of the traders to each other

That is all

Yeah. Don't get scammed by the evil traders.. you have to watch out.. they are like Dollar Tree vs. Wal Mart.

I just recently learned that certain non-salvaged or non-ID'd runes sell for much higher prices to PvP'er's wanting to unlock upgrades for their chars. Example: while the major vigor rune sells for about 2k on the merchant, a PvP player was marketting his non-ID'd rune for as high as 10k. I asked him about it and was given the explanantion above.

Can anyone confirm/deny this explanation?

You're absolutely right. But with faction, these people have lost their minds to want to buy UNid'd runes.

Yeah, people do this. It's a good way to make a buck and also help out another player who needs to unlock runes. Honestly, I wish more people would start selling unID'ed runes. Not just the lucrative stuff, but random unID'ed ones. I still need to unlock about 40% of the runes and I'm not really interested in buying unID'ed armors to hopefully get a rune profession that I need. I'd like to know in advance if I'm getting a ranger rune or not (ie. I'd be more willing to shell out my money).

For those that are unaware, just expert salvage an unID'ed armor BEFORE you ID it. You'll get the unID'ed rune, which you could sell off to people like me, who keep a list of what they still need to unlock and are looking for this sort of stuff all the time. Although since the upgrade in faction not as many as before are interested in this.

Lately I've noticed the merchant has been giving me a lot more money for my minor/major runes than the rune trader has. I've been merchant'ing all mine.

Check what the trader is selling the rune for and make the decision of who to sell it to based on that

Stupid question here - if you get, say, a gold armor and salvage it to a Sup rune - how do you know which particular rune it is (unless it's got a big W which is a sup vig), coz as far as I could see, when I tried this for the first time the other night, the rune I had looked like a super abs (got all excited ), but when I looked closer at the rune trader list, it also looked like a super hammer, axe etc as well. So how can you sell something to someone without Id'ing it first?

I could be selling you a rune for 10k that's only worth 400, or vicky versa, it could be worth 80k. Or is that just the chance that both players take?

BTW, to continue the story, when I did try to sell the unid'd sup rune in LA, I was flamed something rotten with "id it then I'll buy it noob" or "give you 2000 for it coz that's all its worth". So I id'd it.......it was a sup hammer

How have they lost their mind? What else should they do with their money?

that's the chance you take....just like buying a gold max unID'd weapon...you dont know if its 1% chance for armor penetration or 10%
