I want to find a Moa bird in Old Ascalon. I couldnt find one last night.
Does anyone know what specific area they are in?

one guide says they are in the "Ascalon fields", but im not sure where that is.

I have seen them on the quest you do with the Master Ranger Exit Ascalon, head west half way between Ascalon and Gate Guard Holis you will run into the Master Ranger. Go on the Charr quest with him. Half way through the quest there's an area with a collector. In this area is where I saw the birds. Once you complete the quest you can come back through and tame one.

Are Moa birds Striders? Or completely different?

My ranger has a moa bird named pecker.. pecker has killed man things, he is a very good birdy. I feed him noobs lol..

My ranger has a Moa too... Moa Lisa.

I love her and she'll peck your eyes out. She is kind of a show-off though - she likes to peck on the ground during cutscenes and stick her butt in your face while doing so.

Yes, Moa Birds and Striders are the same thing, just a different name. You can usually find a Strider just outside of Ascalon in Pre-Searing.

I believe striders become moa birds after gaining a couple levels.

You can also find them south of Fort Ranik. Just head south, you'll come across them.

I hate these birds! I kill them with pleasure.. they look spastic and their attack is retarded! I mean, who want's a walking chicken with them?

But seriously, they are found in Old Ascalon, Regeant's Valley, Pockmark Flats... just walk around and hold the ALT key down.. you can't miss them...
