unlocked items

alright, i looked but couldnt find any threads on this so i thought id ask. so far, ive unlocked two new items. they both came from items that had to be identified, and once i did so a notice came up informing me of the unlocks. one of them was a salvage item, and the other was a highly salvagable weapon. needless to say i salvaged them both, but what happens now that wasnt going to happen before? will the new unlocked items appear at a merchant somewhere, or what exactly?

ok if you didn't salavge the items with an expert salvage kit your not going to get the special item on your role playing character. (even then their is only a % chance of getting it) However if you make a pvp character you will be able to use the items/skills you have unlocked with your RP character.

ok, this is pissing me off now. i did one of the primary missions from yak's bend, and came across two items. one was a yellow unidentified salvageable item. the other, an unidentified purple sword.

now when i identified both of these, i unlocked an item for each. i used the expert salvage kit on the yellow salvage item, and didnt get sh*t for it, save for 4 iron ingots. yay!

wtf am i doing wrong? do i have to be able to use the unlocked items before it gives them to me? i cant sell them? if thats the case thats weak. i didnt do anything else to the purple short sword except identify it, because i didnt want to waste it if im still doing something wrong.

btw, what does the colour of an item have to do with anything?

i see now you said that theres still only a small percentage chance of getting it...weak...

still wondering what the colour pertains to though.

The color is the rarity: white, light blue, purple and yellow-orange I believe is the list going from most common to rare. If I had to guess I'd say that you have a better chance of salvaging a rune/upgrade from a rarer item.
