Since my post did not get any attention in the thread that I previously posted in, I decided to re-post what I have written to see if this will gather any crowd or not.

Proposal:
1,000 factions to be redeemable into 1,000 gold
100 factions to be able to be used as Guild Member Invite / Guild Guest Invite

Proposal:
Allow factions to be redeemable for PvP Items that are customized for the character who redeemed the item with factions. Items redeemed via factions like this cannot be sold for gold or be salvaged for materials, such factions redeemed items can only be used by the character who redeemed them.

Example:
John Thomas uses 2,000 factions to redeem a 10/10 Sundering Sword Weapon Upgrade.
This Weapon Upgrade can only be usable by John Thomas.
If John Thomas uses this Sword Weapon Upgrade on a sword that is yet to be customized for John Thomas, that sword will automatically be customized for John Thomas.
This Sword Weapon Ugrade cannot work on swords that are already customized by other characters other than John Thomas.

With this suggestion / proposal, perhaps make it such that 'rare' weapon upgrades are available?
My definition of 'rare' items:
Shields with non standard modifiers:
i.e:
20% +1 Tactics
20% +1 Strength

Weapon Upgrades +20% vs certain monsters
Staff Upgrades 20% +1 (Insert Skill Name Here)

With this proposal / suggestion, PvE only players who used up their 4 character slots could make put their factions to use.

Items redeemed using factions cannot be used in the low level arenas:
- Ascalon Arena
- Shiverpeaks Arena

Another Proposal / Suggestion:
Remove the 10,000 faction limit
-OR-
Allow players to use 10,000 factions to increase the faction limit of 10,000
For example:
Use 10,000 factions to increase the faction limit of 10,000 to 20,000

Cheers

sure, why not, the sooner we allow PvE'ers and PvP'ers to do ALL the same things everyone will constatly fight and bicker about which side has more cool stuff. And in this game the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side to the hardcore pvp/pve.

On aside, I like that nothing can be sold, that is the only way I would agree to this one.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=51778 also would like that one to be seen for the pvp'ers, and before you PvE'ers cry out "but you guys have the fame emote, isn't that enough for you greedy PvP'er!!?!?!?!?" PvE'ers should have a hero emote in my opinion. There should always be at least an equivalent for both sides options.

I think a better idea than physical objects is just the inclusion of ingame customization, you're unlocking items, it notes it as such, rather than include a bunch of customized modifications, and essentially one time use items, as it stands now, getting the physical item would a waste compared to unlocking and remaking a character, unless you unlocked it as well, inwhich case, why not go the extra yard and allow them to exchange them much more, I see no real fault with it provided it is within the outpost only and allows no physical objects for mid-game alterations, it gives exactly what is needed without being much less useful.

As for special upgrades like the percentage of damage against a creature, the unlockables are designed for PvP characters, which mean that character will only be doing PvP, while PvE characters can go into PvP and unlock the items, this is not a method to have it on hand, as PvE is that method. Thus, % of damage against a monster is very useless for a PvP character, though with your method of a physical object it allows them to essentially purchase that, I would say, why not simply make those into item mods rather than approach it from a faction issue, though I thought that was the idea of having a more than white weapon, having a better base weapon type.

And, as with PvP characters, they already have any of the useful weapons, even for staves I do believe.

Finally for faction limits, I do not see the point of increasing it to 20,000, then again I do not see the point on having a limit in the first place, I mean unless there is a specific reason I am missing, all it seems to do is force people who may be PvPing for points to leave as to not waste points. Can someone better explain any rationale behind a limit, there has not been a way to exploit the system as with say gold, you do not all of a sudden get lucky and make 80,000 points as with gold, it is a gradual increase done through generally winning via work. I would just say, remove it completely, I don't see a point when someone may have an extremely confined instance of possibly going over, anyone who does should have purchased it, but what about the one guy who has been consecutively winning enough to gain over 10,000...or causing people to panic about having an amount of points which they are unsure of what to spend on just yet?

I agree the faction limit should die, or at least go to around 1 million...as for pve only upgrades, I missed that one. I don't think their should be anything special to pvp or pve, so in going with that idea, I disagree entirely with the PvE specific upgrades, who needs them anyway? I know I wouldn't want to get an "axe haft of pruning" ever again in my life, stick to the general ones, and that is what the pvp unlockables have now. And I think it should only be a option to recieve something with faction after, and only after you have unlocked it first.

Thanks for the feedback, but Vangor, I think you missed my point.
I quote this in my original post in this thread:

It's true that PvP only characters do not have uses for Weapon Ugrades versus Certain monsters, but such Weapon Upgrades could be useful for PvE characters.

At the moment, such Weapon Upgrades are quite rare, in my opinion.
You don't get to see them everyday.

Yes, of course I would definitely agree with the removal of the faction limit.
Has ArenetNet commented anything regarding the faction limit of 10,000?

Anyway, good feedback, keep 'em coming.
Cheers.

We don't need a /hero emote; we have 15k armor. ~_^
