Add to that perhaps 500000 players in Korea, and god knows how many who'll buy the upcoming releases in Japan and Taiwan. Or who'll get Guild Wars after trying the recently released free 10 hour demo.

and you did notice the nice little part about the account activations INCREASING instead of leveling off or dropping?

with Christmas coming up i wonder how many parents got
good school grades
yardwork
clean rooms
etc,etc,

with the promise of GUILDWARS for a Christmas present.

and if chapter 2 comes out with a coupon for chapter 1 at half price (in store coupon redeemable on the spot for convenience)

or even buy chapter 2 get chapter 1 for free it should get a nice player base boost

also those 7 languages for additional parts of the world for more market not to mention Japan and Taiwan getting *localized content* for the launch in those countries.

looks good so far

congratulations on living in a neighborhood where the average teen has 50 bucks to blow on a game without having any other things to spend it on.

From the patch notes

The addition of these new languages foretells the opening of Guild Wars in additional regions of the world.
sounds like more servers depending on where... Russia should be separate from Europe if there adding them for example (blind guess about Russia).

Dunno where you live, but I stole money.

Okay, maybe not. But I'm sure not many can afford it on their own. Had to ask me mommy for bringing me to Fry's because I actually tried and graduated high school over the SUMMER. Go class of '05 and a half.

I dont know 'bout you guys, but I bought mine for 38.99 or something like that from Fry's. They sell games there for cheap if u get them the first week the game is released.

Guild Wars is only 50 bucks or so, but the equipment required to run the game can be considerably more expensive. Upgrading a video card or processor can make the total cost of Guild Wars (or any other game) increase beyond the average 14 year old's allowance.

You're wrong. Unless by 'most' you mean a very small number of fat, lucky, North American and European kids.. but then one would normally just say 'some'...

If, on the other hand, by 'most' you actually mean 'most', then unfortunately you will find that 'most' kids are well accustomed to working by the time they are 14-15, do not own computers, and have far more important things to worry about like basic survival.

Yay, I'm fat. Didn't know 115lb qualified for that but w/e.

Perhaps an addendum to that statement: If most people have computers that can run GW decently, then it's probable that they can afford gw

Can't wait to play against JPs. They're notorious for having to be the best at everything.

You aren't going to buy a game if you can't run it on a computer anyway geniuses.

Hey, don't think I wouldn't include myself in that description at a whopping 145lbs! (bit old to be a 'kid', maybe, but they still come bigger )

Maybe I should have put quotes around it, but think of 'fat' there more in the Bolshevik sense of the word; meant to denote a certain degree of 'excess' in the lifestyle, if you will..

My friend was running Guild Wars on acomputer from 1998 I think O.O It had a generic Graphics Card that made him crash everytime he opened his inventory. Besides that, it ran very smoothly

Point: Alot of terrible, old computers can run it.

You know what?

If they open up GW for other parts of the world we'll have to take the Hall of heroes from additional contries disscluding Korea and Europe.

more contries=more difficulty getting favor= less UW and FoW for us.

This'll make the economy wierd again.
Less ecto's = increase in value
Less UW and FoW related items= increase in thoes item value
The FoW armor will also be *much MUCH* more valuable and significant.

Better get it now while you still can!

1 Million copies for USA + Europe
but what they don't say is how many for europe only... (approx 100K I was told)

I think the people from Anet don't like people critisizing their WaW system

Russia is already playing the game, there's even a Russian guild, I doubt we'll see a seperate Russian server though or Russia as its own HoH region. While they're avid gamers in Russia and former USSR states like the Ukraine, Internet is still relatively expensive and slow there and a game that costs $50 is a lot of money there.

I think Europe very likely made the biggest jump towards that million since the figures of June that were quoted earlier.
