Tech Questions

im somwhat familiar with computer but i have a few questions:

1: Refresh Rate: what does changing it do? i see no performance or visual change from default to 60 or 72 hz.

2: Pop Ups: I keep getting them when in games. i ahve anti virus, spybot, adware, spy doctor, but nothin works. any help? i opened a thread and tryed everything but nothing still worked.

3: Real Alternative: just downloaded it, installed it and everytime i run it it tryes to install again. not sure if its a bug or what, but im gonna try to redownload

1. Refresh rate determines how many time the mointer is "drawn" per second. The higher it is, the easier it is on your eyes / softer image / less flicker. Make sure you mointer set to higest refresh rate it can and make GW match the same rate or closest too it.

2. hmm still sounds like you have spyware/adware issues... maybe try microsoft anti-spyware (and run the programs in safe mode) - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

3. uninstall real alternative, reboot, download most current version reinstall

With real alternative it is not something you ever run after it is installed. It is somewhere between a plugin and a codec and will automiatically run when it is needed, ie when streaming video or audio of the web.

Get Quicktime alternative as well.

Stay away from the official Real Player and Quicktime, horrible resource hogs that'll cost you money. Long live the alternatives
