I just decided to make a video of me playing my Competitive Arenas Ranger Spiking Build. I basically opened Guild Wars, joined a random team, played about 5 rounds, and edited the footage in Premiere and added some music. This is pretty much my first video, leave feedback on editing. It's not too effects heavy because I spent about 20 minutes making it, but I think it's nice for what I was trying to accomplish. Have fun!

Pretty nice vid, and yeah, interrupt rangers clean house in arena.
Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna spew out a load of general advice regarding that build:
Get expertise to 14, which would reduce 10e attacks down to 4e, enabling you to spam punishing and savage more often.
Have a longbow or flatbow with you in case of long ranged encounters. You don't want to be beat by an ele standing just out of range while you're on top of a hill somewhere.
Use serpent's quickness instead of tiger's fury. TF has no effect on those 4 attack skills you're using, while serpents allows you to hammer buttons 1 thru 3 like mad and spam an endless stream of interrupting arrows. Kindle arrows will take care of the damage (which reminds me, you should probably bump up wilderness some more, squeeze every point of damage out of kindle).
You might also want to get rid of concussion shot. Too expensive, not too useful, and you're constantly interrupting a target anyways so it's somewhat of an "overkill" effect. Dual shot works very nicely with kindle arrows.
I prefer whirling defense, as opposed to troll ung. Troll takes valuable seconds away from attacking, and won't really save you if you're getting focus fired. Whirling is at least an instant cast and fully protects against warriors (very common in arena) and rangers.

Thanks for your input . The reason I used TF was so that I could recharge my energy faster (in conjunction with zealous) I'll consider trying Serpent's Quickness. However, I find that this build runs out of energy ridiculously fast if I just spam those shots like crazy. I've been experimenting with something else instead of concussion shot, but I've found that sometimes you need that extra fast interrupt. Perhaps with Serpent's Quickness, my skills will recharge fast enough so that by the time I'm done spamming 1, 2, 3, 1 will be recharged. I normally use troll unguent to fight degen, which is a common build in arenas, but I can see how whirling would work. Any smart warrior, however, would take some kind of stance breaker to arenas (which I do), but I guess maybe not everyone is all that smart . I would probably rather replace with a longbow than a flatbow, just because flatbow has an extremely high miss rate, which makes it difficult to insure your interrupts hit. I'll be sure to try out all your suggestions and give you feedback!

Thanks for posting something constructive instead of flaming .

Whirling Defense is also very valuable when you're facing other interrupting rangers pulling the same build on you - if it ends up a 1vs1 fight you want to be able to refresh Kindle somehow. With the growing popularity of these rangers in Arena, taking Troll Unguent without a dodging stance like Whirling Defense is pretty pointless since the 3s casttime leaves you wide open to the interrupts.
I've always liked Pin Down in Arena matches, since on the offensive it prevents focused targets from fleeing behind obstacles or simply away from the fight, on the defensive it lets you cripple opponent warriors to relieve pressure from your monk, and similarly lets you escape a warrior more easily.
As noted in the Riverside Inn thread, this is a pretty unbalanced setup, spiking pretty hard while keeping a target quiet. Healing monks don't stand much of a chance against it, protection monks stand a much better chance with 1/4s casting Reversal of Fortune and Aegis/Guardian to avoid the interrupts (although kindle still comes through for some reason). The damage aspect of the build quickly loses power against high armour, ofcourse being able to put up defenses against it requires fast spells (wards and armor of earth usually aren't fast enough), but just higher armour still leaves you powerless against the interrupts.
I guess we'll be seeing more and more of these rangers around soon, like many others indicated, there's not much reason to run any other sort of ranger considering these interrupt builds are on par or exceed 'pure damage' builds while still leaving you with a nasty array of interrupt options. Here's hoping ArenaNet takes measures to seperate interrupt specialization from damage specialization.

Thank you for your constructive posts, I'll just choose to ignore the post above and chalk it off to more trolling . Certainly his grammar is bad enough.

I'm not entirely sure what the point of the video is. You can kill arena scrubs like R/Me spikers running Apply Poison as their prep, bow N/R's, and sword Mo/W's, but fail to interrupt a Resurrection Signet? :/

chill dude its not like hes tooting his own horn here, hes posting a build a providing a little evidence to show that it works decently. I mean, he ran into the lava, and in my opinion didnt use the interupts to their full potential, but he played decently and the quality of his play isnt the issue. Its the build.
For improving the build Im mostly with Red Locust, TF -> SQ, Troll -> Dirt, Conc -> Dual. And fix that expertise, you need 14.

About the res sig and the lava: I had already begun using Troll Unguent at that point, and was too lazy to stop it. I knew we were going to win anyways, so what's the point? About the lava, I had pressed R, then looked away to speak to someone. Lo and behold, by the time I had turned back, I had been dropped into the lava!
Once again, thanks to everyone for their constructive comments. I had very little time to make the footage for this video (about 20 minutes of play time, 10-15 min of editing total). Thanks again everyone, and I'm working on testing the builds you guys suggested!
