Hero's in Pre-Sear
viet
GWs has reached an all time low.
they havent given us any new cool looking weapons.
we are forced to amuse ourselves.
Has any 1 ever noticed high lvls in pre? i saw lvl 15's & even rumored of an 18 in pre all decked out in black armor.
when u hit lvl 13, lvl 7 monsters dont even giv u XP i think.
you have to kill lvl 9 or 10+ to get 8XP.

They do exist. What these people do is do all the quests, but don't collect rewards. Then they grind until they can't gain anymor experience. They then take all the quest rewards which should put them around 15 or so I think. BLack dye does drop in pre-searing, thus their black armor. Rumours have it black dye drops much more there!
viet
do quests but dont take rewards...thats smart.
getting 8XP from from lvl 8's is slow.
wish you could get 1xp from lower lvl's.

Know how else they got all that black dye?
By conning new players who don't know how valuable it is. 50gp sounds good from a player when the merchant offers 1gp.
I guess it's different when the person actually USES the dye, rather than milking pre to go sell in post.
Then again, people would not sell their dye in the first place if they knew its real value.

And here she is,
Mad, I'm just about to start playing a dedicated Pre Seer E/Mo just for shits and giggles. I heard a rumour if you go to the NorthLands and let yourself get killed by the Charr enough they start to Lvl up giving you access to more exp. Sounds like BS to me but can anyone substantiate?

most higher lv players in pre-searing are getting benifit many don't realise. Every time you lv, you get a skill point right? Well there are no skills to be bought in pre-searing... So a lv 15 a lot of unused ones. Now when he or she does move on to post searing, they start earning all these skills and doing missions and gaining more skill points. This way they get a pretty good head start on collecting points to use towards buying and unlocking skills later.
I see this all the time in Pre-Searing "Paying someone 50g to open the north wall gate for me and leave party" and thats exactly how they do it... Now you can tag along while they go kill charr, but if you die, you gotta remember, this is pre-searing. You'll res automaticly and come back to life... So no you can'y gain exp while dead because you won't remain dead.
I teamed up with a lv15 in pre-searing. He showed me some tricks to farming those charr. That little monk there in the pic, I wanna lv and get black dye to. but not waste it till I get better armor

You misunderstand the comment, you don't lvl while dead, you res die again res die again and the bad guys lvl up for killing you then when it says they are lvl 15 or so (from the exp of killing you) you kill them and get the exp.
Thats how I understand the premis, I'm just not sure if it is true.

There's really not many good reasons for doing this. I can just think of two: 1. you just simply like pre-searing better than post. 2. you're keeping a character in pre to help newb members in your guild.
As to farming the charr, you could potentially reach L16 by farming the charr. There are at least four charr bosses at L10, which would give you exp all the way through L15, up until you hit 16. I know this because I helped kill one of these bosses myself. But the process is agonizingly slow, and I would wager this L18 monk has spent many hours farming the experience to hit her max.
And no the charr don't level up if you let them kill you.

inventory slots are premium, so i dont try to take too many things to Post.
letting charr kill u so they lvl up. thats genius. but wud probably take a few hrs for a few runs.

Not alot of fun and difference with a lvl 10+ in pre sear. I did it once till lvl 12 but it gets very boring. Its like farming.

I'm pretty sure level 16 is as high as you can go, I would have to say that photo above has been chop-shopped.
Kamikaze Cletus
You can get to level 20 in pre-searing. The charr DO level up if you let them spam kill you. Someone made a video of this. I do not remember where the link is. It IS possible.

With my pre-only character (used for helping new players), I did only enough quests to get skills, then just killed monsters till they stopped giving EXP, then did all the quests before taking a secondary. I'm at level 10 now. I've seen a level 16 Elementalist in Pre-Sear though. I can imagine it would take a lot of Charr hunting to get there. Killing them now is pretty hard for me, but I imagine once I reach a certain point they'd be a lot easier to kill. I may invest a little more time in it, just for the heck of it.

pre searing is beautifull, i can understand people that wont leave it with all their characters.

Err... Correct me if I wrong, but... I don't see ANY advantage in that. I had *tons* of unused skill points all the time, until Ember Light Camp trainer was added and I decided to buy everything I could. What does it matter if you get that skill point in pre or post-searing? It's still there, you can use it, or you can keep it later. There's NO advantage.

Do all the pre-searing quests without farming: level 7-9 = 6-8 skill points. Then doing quests, and missions, and bonuses in post searing to the end of the game is about 46 skill points.
Farm pre-searing to level 20: 19 skill points + All quests after reaching level 20, about 2 skill points = 21 + 50 or more for doing all the quests, and missions, and bonuses in post = 71 or more skill points.
Now, compare 71+ to 52-54 Advantage? You aren't wasting quest exp to level up a level 7. You can use the remaining skill points to unlock all the skills of a certain class. I mean, I've been using my main character for a long time and i only have 85 skill points. I can't immagine ending the game with 71-75.

So lets say (numbers made up as an example), at 50,000XP you get to level 20 and you recieve 20 skill points. Whether you got that at pre-searing or post-searing, the only difference it makes it that it would take you longer to get there at pre-searing. How can you get less skill points by going to post-searing at level 8 as oppose to going there at level 18? After completing only all the quests, you'll end up with the same total XP regardless of your level. Therefore, further XP will be based on mobs you kill and mobs are in an unlimited supply. If anything, you will get less skills by staying in pre-searing longer because you waste all that time killing low level mobs when you can go to post-searing and kill level 20+ mobs and gain more XP per kill.
Can someone actually explain if staying in pre-searing up to level 20 have an advantage, besides maybe bragging rights (thought that's relative)?
Alone)
Couldn't care less about making the choice of staying in pre-searing or not. Can really get boring really fast. And I'm sure the money isn't so great. Only reason I'd find to stay there, is to help about guild members and new people. I think someone already said something like this...

That is pretty sad...
I get to lvl 8 and I am already bored of pre-searing.
Well right now I am pretty much done with guild wars, just waiting to get a new game now. Either WoW or FF11 not sure yet, probably WoW.

Pre searing campers have no advantage whatsoever, apart from the beautifull scenery you only see later gain in 2 GvG arenas.
They get a few vials of dye more, but WAY less money, I could just buy more later in the game.
for fast leveling and skill point earning LEAVE pre searing as early as possible and only do the pre searing quest that gives one skill point (if not 15k experience later in the game for the same skill point is not a big loss).
The lower your level against high level enemies is the more experience you get per kill, and its easy in most ways once you know how, so just leave it early and fight higher level enemies with hencheman that have a higher level than you. -> less kills, less wasting time with running around, faster leveling.
My Hencheman ALWAYS had a higher level than me untill ascension and I got 7 level 13 Hencheman while i was level 8-11 from ToA till ascension, with level 11-13 with 5 level 17 hencheman with me, got it?
(reaching ToA as level 8 is the only hard part.)
