Critique Simple Earth Ele
Venus
Here is a build that I have been using in random arenas, and it has been working very well. I like it because I can help out my team mates in a visible way (wards)... and also because most warriors I encounter just sit there and waste their time attacking me. Anyway, I would really appericiate it if they Guildwars Guru community would help me enhance this not-so-perfect build.

I have been playing an earth elementalist for a few months now, and i think i can offer some changes to your build.
I think you are using too many protections and enchantements on yourself:
kinetic armor + aura of restoration + earth attunement arent all necessary. I personally, dont use any of them, but i can see how some are usefull...
kinetic armor isn't good IMO, plain and simple. armor of earth is better.
i think you should lose one of them, i would suggest giving up the attunement.
secondly, i think you should switch ward vs foes with ward vs elements - its more effective IMO.
I would put in an aftershock or a crystal wave (earthquake/whirlwind + aftershock is great) too.
I would use a sup earth rune too

I would remove earth attunement and add Ether Renewal. With your other enchanments you can spam stone daggers and have plenty of energy as well as health.

err .... I wouldnt do any of those things ....
Stick to your attunement, and aura of restoration.
Perhaps change kinetic armor with armor of earth.
REMOVE ward against foes. It sucks simply.
ADD Ether Renewal.
Thats all You Would need, I think.
But the first 2 posts are not really good improvements.

Ward of Foes is great for Tombs and GvG, not so much for Arena. Grasping Earth is a better snare in that situation.
Ether Renewal is too good not to use.
I would drop Kinetic Armor for Armor of Earth. Armor of Earth is longer lasting, gives you more armor, and the small amount of slow it gives can easily be overcome by a snare.
I would try to work in an Aftershock combo in there. It does more damage than Obsidian Flame, and has the benefit of not causing exhaustion.

thats right, but it takes more energy. If you want more dmg for no exhaustion. Go for Stoning. Because aftershock is only better in combination with earthquake, which causes exhaustion again

1. Take out Aura of Restoration, rely on the monk for healing, just use huge defense for yourself.
2. (Optional) Take out Kinetic armor and Stone daggers. Replace them with Earthquake and Aftershock. (If you do this, take out obsidian flame too and replace it with armor of earth)
3. You can replace Earth Attunement with Ether Renewel if you want to. If you decided to go for damage with KD (EQ & AS), then you should probably switch to elemental attunement for elite since you won't have a spammable skill to recharge.
4. Replace Ward against foes with Ward against Elements.
You can end up with 2 builds.
(Ether Renewel build and Burst of attacks doing little damage)
1. Stone Dagger
2. Obsidian Flame
3. Ether Renewel
4. Ward Against Melee
5. Ward Against Elements
6. Armor of Earth
7. Kinetic Armor
8. Ressurection Signet
OR
(Elemental attunement & Earth attunement for 80% Return on energy costs, occasional large damage combos)
1. Earthquake
2. Aftershock
3. Elemental Attunement
4. Earth Attunement
6. Ward against Melee
7. Ward against elements
8. Ressurection Signet

ward against elements is crappy used alone. Replace it with aura of restoration, and Deathlord, your proposation is really good

Go up against a Ranger spike team? Four dual shot kindle arrows, having an extra 30ish armor against fire is more than enough to help turn the tide of the match. It surely outdoes +15 hp for yourself by casting stone daggers.

Do you specialise in going round giving people bad ideas? If you weren't from such an amazingly cool place as Luxembourg I might just start flaming you now.

I think this is a 4v4 build. So I wouldn't take it in the perspective of an 8v8 one.
Aura/ Ether Renewal {E}
E-Attune
WaM
Obs Flame
Crystal Wave
Armor of Earth
Stone Daggers
Rez Sig
In arenas I will usually be stationary as an earth ele. Just stay in my ward, spam obs flame + crystal and stone daggers when I am waiting on recharge.

why bad ideas? its not the problem that the spell is too bad, I meant to say that you can put something more usefull in that spot ...
because 8places is not very much, and its my biggest problem. So I personally see it as waste to put it in, but thats personal opinion.
Well where are you from that you know Luxembourg? because 99% of people dont know where it is...

Whatever you do, do NOT try to put in earthquake+AS, as that is a terrible combo.
Let's compare a lvl 16 earthquake to a lvl 0 shock (air spell): Earthquake is a 3second, 25 energy, 15 sec recharge, exhaustion causing spell that does 105 dmg. Shock is a .75second, 5 energy, 10 sec recharge, exhausiont causing spell that does 10 dmg (plus 25% armor penetration) and requires touch range.
As can be seen, earthquake costs 20 more energy, takes 2.25 seconds longer, and recharges 5 secones slower, but it does approx 90-95 more dmg. Note: this is comparing a lvl 0 skill to a lvl 16 skill.
The fact that shock requires touch range is actually helpful because it ensures that you are in range for the followup aftershock. If I ever see an ele run up to me and begin to cast an earth spell, I will move just a few feet away, so that their AS will not be able to hit me for the full effect. Shock eliminates this problem.
My current setup for an earth E/Mo in random arenas is:
Obsidian flame
Shock
Aftershock
Obsidian flesh {e}
Armor of earth
Ward against melee (can be healing breeze/orision if I want to have some healing)
Aura of Restoration
Rez sig
I love it when I am targeted because I have about 130 armor, cannot be the target of spells, and can throw up a ward vs. melee. I am able to crank out about 200 dmg from shock+aftershock vs. softies and then follow it up with 118 armor ignoring dmg form obsidian flame. The only problem I have run into with this setup is exhausion buildup (hehe, kinda to be expected, as I am spamming 2 exhaustion spells). Despite this, I enjoy watching 4 W/Mos in random arenas beating on me for 4 dmg a pop
Good luck to you all.

well nice dmg setup, but if you get really aggroed, you have not really much against ranger -> poison+bleed
anyways the dmg does it =)
good workout with the shock, I never really used eq+as, just too much energyloss. And I dont have unlocked shock yet, so I just keep stoning my ennemies, which does some really nice dmg, when my stoning hits a warrior tryin to use his signet to heal himself ... does some nice dmg ^^
theres just one fact which I dont really like of the obsidianflame... It completly ignores armor, so even if you could do more then the 118dmg, it doesnt, thats kinda bad, but its the skill, and thats why I dont really use it.

Why not switch shock for signet of judgement? I used shock a lot too, hated the exhaustion tho. Maybe u shud try sig of judgement,
