Myth Buster [MERGED]

I'm a regualr GW player that's not very happy with the PvP - I think there isn't really enough room for variance in characters - every class that goes into TOA has roughly the same hp/mp, same build, and same skill set.

That being said, instead of complaining about PvP I just PvE, and having gotten pretty much everything I could get from this game [Think I have about 1.5 million exp, and just under 1000 plat] so I've taken it up to spend my time and resources [when reasonable] to check out rumors and heresay.

There's a pretty common[imho] rumor that you can salvage globs of ecto, at a very slim margin of chance, from demonic and ghostly remains with expert salavage kits. I salvaged 250 demonic and 250 ghostly but didn't get anything yet. So the chancesthat this is a myth is pretty high ~ and even if you can, I personally lost 10K in expter salvage and 10K in ghostly remains, getting only 3-5 piles of dust to show for it per remain.

I'm kind of interested in fool's gold projects like this so if there's any GW question that you have post it here or PM and I'll try to get to the bottom of it.

I'm not overly gullible BTW so don't bother posting patronizing messages, or completely preposterous claims.

Although this seems like a great idea there arn't any huge questions left that still need answering...if you search I'm sure that your discovery about Remains is already out there. It probably didn't take 500 Remains and 20k either :P

There is a lot of rumor's that indicate how to finish the Gwen quest that may be fun to mythbust.

take your dryer apart sometimes a sock can get lost outside of the drying area and end up still trapped inside the dryer case

I heard this rumor that an people got into UW soemwhere in Snakes dance as an international group. IS that true is it possible?

This actually IS possible under a certain condition:

The partyleader is of the country that has favor.
However it could also be that half the party hast to of the realm having favor.

But this works, atleast the second one does... i've allready done it. The method behind this is the game hosts an instance at the realm either the teamleader or a huge part of the players are located at (not sure which of both). If that is american for example, than europeans and koreans could join his team and go down to the shrine in lornars Pass. As the instance will be "hosted" in america... you can go in, even if most of you are not from there.

Farming, one of the most revered and hated aspect of the game, is a topic of hot debate. The most common misnomer is that people spend countless hours going in and out of Augury killing griffons, then Hydras, then Griffons again. For more 'Golds' to be dropped after the initial gold are dropped however, a farmer needs to run throught the whole map [augury to duens if they are farming griffons] in order for gold to drop again. Even the UW seems to drop more gold if you alternate farming it in it's entirety, then running through towns in the Crystal deseret. [UW is somewhere under Dragon's Lair in Crystal D]

-I've pretty much scoured UW in my normal ecto farming route [I haven't gone chamber, but I've beat the smite crawler room in it's entirety and followed the route to a back obsidian castle with nothing in it, except closed doors that wouldn't open]

there only good rumors I could google is:
"I have been trying to track the Gwen mystery down. It seems that you all have all the elements everyone else has. The only post I saw that I can add was that a guy had email arnet about gwen. They replied that the gwen quest had a "bug" and that it may take sometime to fix as it was not a high priority. I think that has been fixed as the tattered cape should now be a quest item and not a salvagable. "

Yes yes, we all know Gwen is out there, but she only appears during Solar Eclipse on Friday 13th step year, so there's little chance of me ever seeing it. Honestly, what will people think of next? They put some whiny brat in pre-searing and everyone think she's so important.

Let's stop trying to find Gwen, the last time she showed up it was rather unpleasant.

That end-of-beta-ownage was the only good thing involving Gwen ever.
