Well, my wireless card quit working for some reason (probably an unrelated reason), so I decided I would try everything possible before taking my comp to Geek Squad and paying through the nose for them to fix it.
Getting desperate, I decided to Scan the disk (C-drive) for errors. It gave me an error that it was unable to complete the scan. This had me very worried. So I ran Disk Defragmentor, and I got the error that it could not defragment a file.

it's all the data guildwars needs (textures, maps, etc...) it's updated when you log into the game so you can safely delete it but you'll have to download each map of the game the next time you play GW.
You can also reinstall the game...

If your using Windows XP, it seems to refuse to defragment big files. The defgramenter in Windows 2K isn't broken -- it defragments just fine as long as you've got 2-3 GB of free disk space. Microsoft purposefully nerfed the defragmenter in XP so one of their "solution partners" (an ex-microsoftie) could sell the full, commercial version.
