PvE build request

You know, almost every build today revolves solely around either PvP or solo/small group farming. For the softcore gamer such as myself, such builds can become rather boring, since the casual gamer usually wants to just play through the game, have fun, and complete the storyline + quests in 8-man teams vs. the environment.

For the gamer who just wants to have fun (and doesn't care if his guild owns the HoH for a week or whatnot), there are scarcely few builds available. I currently have a 20 E/X, a 20 R/X, and a 17 N/X, and I would like to make one of them into a dedicated PvE character - since they're all either done with the game or nearly so, their focus would be to help guildies/friends with missions or quests or to complete the new titan's or SF quests.

I'm particularly interested in getting a good PvE (but not farming) build for my necro, since he's my newest char and quite fun to play. Since he's in the late game, Death Magic has become weak (i.e. one fireball from a hydra and 4-8 level 17 minions are dead or nearly so, even though I keep them alive with BoM and VS), so I've been looking for a Blood/Curse build.

The elite skill almost always makes the build. I've played around with Spiteful Spirit {E}, and it seems OK - I hear FoC {E} is neat too, but I haven't capped it yet.

Elementalist or Ranger builds are very welcome as well. Again, I'm not looking for a hardcore farmer/soloer, a guy who can take down a monk in eight seconds, etc. I'm interested in blowing a select group of NPC mobs out of the water, or making it very easy for my teammates to do so, with perhaps a little bit of team support thrown into the mix as well. Any/all ideas are appreciated. thanks.

Edit: If you have a good death magic build, now that I think about it, I'd love to see it. I just hear that minions are weak in the north shiverpeaks + RoF, so I had my doubts, but if you have something that works... ^_^ Please share
