Dissapointed with W/Mo Looking for New Secondary

W/Mo

I don't know if I am playing it right but I do not use any of my monk skill except for the regen +1 spell. For healing I use my tactics healing, and I don't have time to worry about healing others when I am getting pounded.

Maybe I am not using my Mo correctly or there is something better. What I would like to do is probably have some interrupts against healers, and/or some way to get rid of all of the hexes that I get thrown on me especially when I try to run.

I am a hammer weilding tank lev 17 currently.

Thanks for any suggestions ahead of time.

Make an IWAY for PvP! If you want to play a PvE, I would suggest a R/E. Pretty fun if you ask me. Having Fire Storm at level 3 with a Ranger is so cool.

what skills are you using for warrior and monk?
a balance of energy and adenaline skills is the best...

I use:
Mend ailment
A healing skill
and rezzurect.
primarily for backup when the healer is backed up or dead.

What does that have to do with changing secondaries??

To the OP: hammer knockdowns are a pretty decent form of interrupt. Otherwise, if you want interrupts and hex removal from your secondary go W/Me. Shatter Hex for AoE damage in addition to hex removal, and some quick spell interrupts while you close the distance with your target. But generally, hex removal and interrupts should be left to other members of your party. Trying to do everything yourself is a pain.

If you want some interrupts, use axe skill disrupting chop. If you want to remove hex, go for smiting in your secondary. Smite Hex will remove one hex and deal damage to adjacent foes.
If you like hammers, w/e's kd/as build is quite suitable.

for pve, w/mo tanks are the best because enemies will pretty much attack you without changing targets and you will take the least damage while the rest of your party members kill

for pvp, w/r axe warriors are the best because axe damage skills like eviscerate, axe rake, executioners strike are great when combined with tigers fury. dont worry about healing yourself there because you will never be the target (unless the rest of your team is dead, in which case you lost anyway). just deal as much damage as possible.

plague touch alone makes w/n viable after a while you start wishing for more conditions you can give to you target but there are some other great necro skills that compliment a warrior, mark of pain and barbs spring to mind, soul feast is handy for a decent quick heal.

I'm assuming the +1 health regen you're talking about is Mending. You need to have an 8 in Healing Prayers for mending to give you +3 health regen. I use two slots for my monk skills: mending & a rez spell. Sometimes I'll add on healing breeze if I think I need some extra healing. But yeah, mending & reusable rez are two of the biggest reasons for a monk secondary.

You never really use many secondary spells...well at least no one I know does. The only time I see people using more than 2 of their secondary skills is when they have their primary just for that attribute (i.e. E/Mo that's full healing, ele just for the primary energy storage). With my E/Me, I REALLY miss spammable rez and healing breeze

once again, please tell him that those builds are only for pve, the last two posters didnt clarify that and i would feel bad if he did those kinds of things in pvp and got annihilated.

Um...actually I use those monk skills for PvP too. Mending & healing breeze have kept me alive countless times, or at least prevented conditions/hexes from giving full damage...and I switch off between having just rez sig and both rez sig and restore life...once again, having the rez skill has saved my team countless times because the other team tends to not pay as much attention to the W/Mos and especially if the person ran away from the rest of the team when they died, I can usually sneak over there and rez them before the other team even realizes it.
There's been a lot of PvPs where my team won with more than a 15% DP just because of having a spammable rez. I don't care if people say it's a wasted slot, I've seen how important it is to have sometimes.

There's no reason that a good PvE build can't also do PvP. I barely change my build between the two and haven't had a problem with it.

EDIT: I'm talking about random 4v4 arenas here. Mending is pointless when it comes to organized pvp

And your advice to him about 'never being the target and there's no chance if you are' is completely wrong. I can't tell you how many times there were only one or two of us warriors still standing and we killed 1-3 of the other team's members by having self-heals.

Well, my kd/as usually owns axes - you get knocked down every 10 s and take huge damage. And DONT deal enough damage to win skirmish with hammer. By the way, I'm often targeting warriors first, for the battle chaos ;>
