Fissure Armour - Major noob question about materials.

Hello,

I have managed to save up and I would like to buy my male monk some Fissure Armour.

To look at the materials I need for the Ascetic Set.

Question is, how come it doesn't say I need Obsidian Shards? I know in that thread it has images showing that Necro and Mesmer sets need shards but I sometimes see warriors looking for them and they seem to be popular too however in the warrior images of the crafter it doesn't show that they need shards. Unless I'm major blind, just tell me.

So my understanding for what I need for the monk Ascetic Fissure Armour is:
350 Rolls of parchment
35 Feathers
105 Globs of Ecto
32 plat. (Ascetics at 8 plat a piece)

So if someone could tell me if this is all I need as is that would be so GREAT. Otherwise if someone could let me know what I should bring in even better. I'm a really slow person so if there is anything else I need to know, pls tell .

I know it's super noob of me but I want to make sure I have everything right before I attempt to get to the forgemaster.

That is correct, the Ascetic's FoW armor doesn't require any obsidian shards, and they are 8k a piece as opposed to the 15k like the rest.

The warrior set does require obsidian shards (unless they've changed it since I got my pieces a while back).

The thing is, in that picture it doesn't show that warriors need any shards at all so I just want to make sure I don't need them before I go into the FoW. Maybe I do?

That is Vellum you need, not Parchment. I belive that is the reason why ascetic's design (and scar pattern for that matter) are cheaper: Vellum in large ammounts like this is quite costly.

Did they change the design on Vellum? Because I just checked and Vellum is like a piece of paper and Parchment is different, just like the one in the pics from the above link.

And then on the Necro armour, it has the proper Vellum icon. Ah im confused!

I know fissure ascetic's needs vellum because I just recently bought it. I would suspect that other screenshot is outdated, mine clearly shows the vellum icon.

They changed all the icons back when people trying to buy ecto were scammed into buying half-eaten blobs. lol.

Ah I see. Just that some of the pics above had the proper icons for Vellum. All sorted now after I went to the forgemaster only to discover I brought the wrong material along!
