Getting skills early in game

Just started playing a little bit ago, and have been reading a lot of helpful info on these boards. I'm a lvl 3 War/Necro and was wondering about getting skills early in the game. Do I have to search for a new trainer eveytime I want to get new skills? For instance, I recieved my first couple of Necro skills from the first two trainers, but it then says to see the trainer back in the cattacombs. I thought I had received all that she had to offer, do I then wait until after I join the Academy?

I also have 3 skill points that I never noticed before until I opened up my Hero Tab in game. At first I thought they were to use as extra points in the skills I already have, but it says to use to purchase skills. If I now go back to the same trainers will they now sell me skills that I need?

Thanks for any help, recently left WOW not too long ago, and trying to get adjusted to this new gameplay. I'm very happy I took the gamble and decided to pick this game up, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Skill points are used for buying skills from skill trainers. It usually takes one skill point and a little gold to get a skill. Alternatively, quite a few quests will give you experience and skills as a reward (typically one skill for each of your professions).

In Pre-seared Ascalon (where you are now) you can only get skills from the trainers.

After you enter the academy, a lot of the quests you do will give you skills. There are also Skill Trainers in certain towns and cities that will sell you skills for skill points and gold

Summary: Go southwest to the river. Slay a skale so that Verata can make use of its corpse.

Directions: Head towards the large rectangular room on the right Munne lead you to in the Necromancer's Novice quest instead of taking the first right to the flame geysers, take the second right and head through the spider caverns.
Description: Defeat 5 Crypt Fiends
Reward: 500 XP
Skills Given: Soul Barbs, Faintheartedness
