What level before The Searing?

Once you do the mission for Sir Tydas(I think thats who it was) where you cant go back, you have 2 fight some other real players and the searing takes place. What level do you think a character should be before doing this mission? I took it before I had fully explored the world on my first character, who was level 4, and completed defeating the other players but decided to go back and make a new character to do all the exploring I could and make as much money as possible before doing the mission.

Im currently halfway to level 7 w/ my new guy, and have about 1000g in the bank right now. What level is best for someone to be before doing this mission, and should I even worry w/ saving up money now or do the people you kill and missions you do after the searing give you more money?
