I wish I had as much money as the next guy.

I have 2k.... im at lions arch its sad I know I got one k from a friend one k form gates of kryta mission killing skeletons and getting 112 bones and various other items along my way....I cant afford runners or any items or my armor im a necro lvl 13 and I still have bonelace........I need advice....

You shouldn't need a runner anywhere. Most of the time you can make money simply by selling the items dropped from monsters when you do quests or missions. You should really stop to do quests, they can give you decent weapons, skills, or at the very least drag you out to the countryside to kill for more profit. I did virtually nothing trading with other people, yet I was able to afford Droknar's armor without any hassle. Just play the game, money will follow.

ty, ill try but its hard as a necro cause no one wants me in there group...im a death necro. people dont appreciate me for my minions or deathly swarm doing 72 dmg buuuuttt thats ok ill try hunting with henchies.

That's because they don't know how awesome necro's can be. One of the easiest missions I ever did was with a minion master, midway through, he had a freaking minion army and we mostly just stood and watched. What you should do is form your own groups and show them just what you can do. If you do it well, you'll be showing lots of people how powerful necro's are.

Savio was right, do the quests and missions, carry salvage kit and salvage everything that isn't worth anything. You can sell the materials and make money. Later on in the game, when you start getting good drops, you can sell them here at Guru, but materials are the quickest and easiest way to make money.

Yah, just use henchmen or make your own groups. Most cookie cutter groups don't want anything outside the box or that actually does something. You're better off without them, they fail 80% of the time anyway.

You don't *need* to be run anywhere if you're playing for the first time ... runners are ONLY for people that are taking their 2nd or 3rd character through the game and don't want to repeat everything in the same order again (they do have to go back later though to do the quests that give skills).

Death necros are very powerful. Just make your minion armies and most of the areas (except the ones with few corpses) will be a breeze .

Identify everything before you sell it to increase its selling price. Find out what materials your Droknar's armor will need, and salvage those so that you have enough before you get there. Normally it should be NO problem at all for a first timer to be able to buy Droknar's armor by the time they arrive there via the plotline. I am also wondering how come you only have 2 plat though? My first char had almost that much when she exited presearing already.

And, believe me, you don't want to be part of the silly group that only wants wamos, eles and monks because it's obvious how much clue they have ...

Ignore all the non-PVE-players around you (because that's what they really are), who are spending all their time getting run, running, selling things, buying things, etc. etc., and play and enjoy the game.

If you play the game by doing the quest and missions, and picking up your drops and selling them to merchants and traders, you will be able to progress through the game as it was designed, and will be able to afford all the things you need when you get to them. I am currently playing two new characters which are just a bit beyond Lions, and I think I am up to about 7K to 12K gold each, and I don't do any farming or selling to other players. What I have accumulated has just come naturally from the creature drops doing quests and things.

What you really don't need money for (because it will truely dilute the challenge and, hence, enjoyment of the game for you) is being run someplace you can't walk and fight to, and for weapons that you don't find yourself.

Yep, Necros, Rangers and Mesmers are always unable to find a group. They're more the Henchmen/Guild characters, it'll take without either of those. Though, 2K isn't that much, complete some quests in the earlier parts of the game, along the way, pick as much up as you can, and return to Lion's Arch when you have enough money for an armor if you really think you need it.

If this is your first toon then play the game to get a feeling for it.
We all were like this.
Once you are done the game with the first toon then you can get runners if you want to "skip" some of the boring areas. But you really do not need runners, you can run or fight your way to almost anywhere in the game once you get used to it.

As for money, you won't start getting good drops or make serious money untill you get to the desert area.
