chest curiosity

I started at around 9k today and bought myself down to about 1k. All shiverpeak keys, as i was solo running around Witman's Folly. I was wondering if any of you GW enthusiasts think I made money by doing this. I receieved quite a bit of purples, all of which I salvaged down to materials. Here is a list of what i was left with however;

Sundering bow string 10/10

Gold Truncheon
dark dmg 11-22 (req 10 blood)
improve skill recharge (10% chance)
merch value = 424

Gold Vampiric War Hammer of Enchanting
Blunt dmg 19-35 (req 12 hammer mast)
Life steal 5
health degen -1
enchants last 15% longer
merch value = 222

barbed axe haft - lengthens bleed duration

probably around 100 wood

3 steel

essentially, was this worth it? I tried to search some of the sell forums and see what these items were worth, but had no luck

I posted a thread in regards to this a couple of nights ago. I did 100 shiverpeak chest runs.

however, one of the mods here didn't feel as though anyone would benefit from the research...so I guess you're pretty much screwed.


side note: it looks as though you got incredibly lucky. Your Hammer is nearly perfect and the 10/10 bow string is perfect. Both are very desireable among the community. You should make atleast 60K off the sale of both of them.

i keep getting sup vigors from chest and dwarfs

a superior absorb dropped out of a shiverpeak for me so i am way ahead, if not for that i would be way behind.

For me so far... kryta chests and onward... the cost for the key and the overall worth of the drop itself has left me in the hole. I only use keys I find, I don't buy them.

sounds like you were very very lucky.. so far (since I started keeping track), 32 chests opened, 3 gold items, the rest purple. (that one update that mentioned gold items from chests and such, lol.. hmm)

the 10/10 string alone will cover (and then some), the amount you spent on keys.

10-10s sell for 25-30k now

which still covers (and then some), what he spent on keys.

My experience - usually the item is NOT worth the key, but those few rare finds more than make up for it. Example After getting crap out of 5k worth of key, I finally found a sup Vigor, worth around 50k.
