The first pet I trained was a stupid bird just trying the skill. Can I get rid of this thing to train something cooler? and if I can, how?

He's in Regent Valley if I remember correctly. He's not that hard to find if you look around a bit in Regent Valley.

Yes, his location is right there beside Master Range Mente (sp?) and the collector who also keeps them company. Ask him if he has any interest in your companion and he should let you give it to him.
