Honest question.. what's so good about the Stoneheart green item?
generik
I happen to have Brohn's Rod sitting around in my chest.. and currently am using the staff.. and I was toying with this idea of spending big gold on a healing focus..
but looking at its stats, I seriously do not see why it is worth 100K? Isn't a collector's 20/20 item so much better?
I mean, so what if 20% of the time you heal for 20 hp more? Fast cast is so much better for those savage/distracting shots you get when getting that 1/4 sec cast Word of Healing off...

Just because it costs 100K does not mean it is worth that price.

Yep

I also use the Brohn's rod for my healer, but i use the 20/20 collectors healing ank from northern snake dance. gives 12 energy for 9 reqs and 20% chance faster cast/20% faster recharge. it usually hits around every 3 casts and works well with the rod

It is a fact that collector items are indeed better than most gold or green items and it is cost effective. It's really just up to that person using it if he/she will be satisfied on using a blue instead of a gold or green. I personally would use gold items instead of blue items because 1. it makes me feel good and 2. I can afford it. Thats almost the same with why people would buy a sports car instead of just buying a regular 1992 honda civic.
....well 'least thats what I think.

the only other item i would replace the combo i have now is if i happen to get a good deal or happen to find Brohn's staff...........

I think stoneheart is expensive and desirable because its rare and looks different. It is simply because only a handful can have them that makes them so wanted, look at collectors items, everyone has them, they are boring, stoneheart however is rare and you look "special". Compare droks amrour to citadel or fow, stats are same but looks are not and thats what matters ^_^

Same reason players will pay insane amounts for Cyrstalline Swords and Sickles, even if they're awful. Looks and looks alone.

I think a better analogy would be a story about a person buying a new car.
The buyer goes to the Chevy dealership and checks out a fully loaded pickup and decided that it is ok, but they need to shop around. The same buyer goes to the GMC dealership and looks at a GMC work truck, with the vinyl floorboard. They say to them selves "this is professional grade" and pay more than the fully loaded Chevy.
They then go and buy a Green Item in LA for 100K.

Intresting that you say that.. I use collectors items almost religiously. Of course i don't have a lot of money either. But then again, i drive a Dodge SRT-4. Why? Because its cheap and just as fast if not faster than a lot of more expensive cars. Collectors items are just as good if not better than most Gold or Green Items.

NeXuS8

I paid 10k for it, and I don't think its worth much more.

I think my favorite is an Inscribed PvP Staff with Hale + Insight mods.

You have just gotten yourself a lucky deal
It is akin to buying a LV bag for the price of a cheap chinese knockoff

I've seen many people trying to get 100 k for green items. And if someone desperately wants something he/she might pay it. I like the focus for just one particular enchantment so that it saves me 1 expensive skillpoint in healing. For that build its great! But I use many builds so I could do without it. Started offering 10 k and within 5 minutes someone answered that it was a reasonable offer
