Consume Corpse (necro): crappy!

Oh yea, great! Consume corpse, a necro skill.

You are suppose to transport to a dead body, and at the same time, get X points of life and X points of energy. So...

Here is the situation. I am fighting in PvP. Everything works well for me. Except that there is this big Warrior coming towards me with his big hammer. He starts bashing on me. Life Siphon, but his strikes are very powerful. "Hey, now is the time to transport across the map with Consume corpse" i say to myself. Click!

I end up at the end of the corridor but... but... an "imaginary" hammer hits my head and I end up dead! What is the use of this crappy skill if the "transporter" brings over the weapon that is attacking you? This skill sucks!

hmm ...
shouldn't have done that.
Send in a bug report, so they can get it fixxed.
Because actually that skill is really good in arena fights (if it works =))

Sounds like an issue of lag. I'll bet the warrior saw one final swing just before you ported. Somewhere inbetween calculating the damage done vs life remaining, your skill triggered. Just a fluke, I would say. I wouldn't expect this to happen often.

Sorry for your loss.

This is a pretty decent spell for corpse denial too (using 1 low-cast-speed skill on your bar to prevent enemy Necros from raising Wells/Minions, possibly putrids). It's not as good as Necrotic Transversal for the cast time, but it gives you +energy for all your other necro abilities. Not bad.

Plus, in GvG, if you time it right, you can teleport into the enemy's base right before they resurrect.

Of course, you'll promptly get squished by them, but still fun.

I'm a huge fan of consume Corpse - great teleportation during PvE - I'm a E/N totally uncapable of killing Griphons on my own, but with two henchmen going in melee I teleport inside a group of griphons, use Crystal Wave to hurt them bad and leave again

I love it for my mo/n in PvE, start getting low on energy, cast it once or twice then spam heal again.

Sorry for your loss. I think Glasswalker has it right, the warrior got a hit off right before you finished your spell.

I have noticed that when playing my warrior, I'll be chasing a squishy, and there will be a slight delay between when they stop one second for a quick heal, and when I can smash them. Still get the attack off somehow, though it doesn't seem like I should.

consume corpse is great, its basically free corpse denial, u probably need to teleport earlier. i dont think it was meant to be a life saver anyways, the hp u gain probably saves u from 2 shots of a buffed ranger
