ok last night i was in La 1. Trying to buy a +30pommel. i came across a player with a chinese or korea name something like Ming yang whatever....so n-ways i asked him how much and he said 100k now i tried negociating with him and brought him down to 65k and i still didn't by it...the reason was he didn't speak no english.
all he keeped resonding was 85ok? 75k?ok and i'm telling you there are a shit load of them not just this guy. Also there selling undify swords 8-9-10 req same for shield/axes etc.... now my question is are these farm camps in china turning away from botting gold now farming chests to get items in return to sell there undtify items to gold to sell on ebay if this is the case anet has another new problem on there hands.
i belive anet should really place a merchant which we can by upgrades from him.
example sword pommel
+30=40k-65k
+29=10k
something of that short. what are your thoughts. also be a good gold sink for them. and a good reason to put a stop to these farm camps

Even if it was some gold farmer, you'd turn down a +30 Pommel for as cheap as 65k?
Tactical-Dillusions
I sold a 29hp pommel for 500 gold and a 30hp hammer haft for 1k. I really don't see what the fuss is about.
stdnox
a guild member found a sword and salavge it and sold it to me for 55k while i was looking to buy one.
the point of my post is not turing down a +30 pommel (why should i give gold to then in turn will selling on ebay)....I'm just trying to find a way to stop these farm camps ****just like when the community wanted to stop botters (Anet placed chest to stop them and it did temperarly)****just want the communities input in having a merchant selling upgrades.

I agree that a merch system to buy/sell is necessary, because doing it in trade channel is hell and auctioning them on websites isnt much better.
Eternal Equinox
@ Tactical-Dillusions, that's nice and all but...why is that relevant? The point i was trying to make is that buying that pommel is a good deal because they're usually sold for much higher.
@stdnox, there was once a thread pertaining to almost the same situation that you stated above, they probably are gold farmers selling gold on ebay but if you weren't so sure and want that stopped then perhaps mail ArenaNet with the situation and have let them know whats up.

Remember, these players are people too.
About your problem, I think that this is gonna be hard for ANET to fix because they are not doing anything illegal just by selling UNID weapons and other items IG and there's also no way that they can catch those people buying golds from ebay as well. I also think that adding a merchant that sells upgrades is a really good idea, although it wouldn't really solve your problem.
I personally am happy that they're there because you can get REALLY cheap items from them, and because of them selling cheap weapons and upgrades, other people are starting follow suit which is really good for bringing down prices everywhere.

You can't be sure if they are botters by the way they speak. I think it's unfair to make an assumption like that. Maybe they are just playing the game. Unless you had proof of some kind, just leave it alone.

To be honest, most bots would probably be more likely to speak good english; lets face it, if you know you're gonna log your bot into an American district, you also know that most people in there (if not all) are English speakers.
I also gotta say that its pretty dumb to assume they're farmers just because they can't speak english well. Don't english speakers farm and ebay as well? If you're worried about it, simply report them to A-net and let them follow the player and observe them, and IF they decide they are suspicious, they can ban them. But presuming something about someone just because of their grammar? pffft.

do this! sell everythings for 1k ... and see how fast people come running at you to take that offers!

I'd turn down a +30hp mod if someone offered it to me in exchange for a bolt of cloth. What's the topic about, by the way? The Secret Society of People That Can't Speak English (of which you're a proud cardholder), farmers or the poor trading system?
Funki
hehe, i ran into these guys too..... but tbh i dont think they're human....
i already had a feeling it was a bot so i started messing around with it
i believe this for different reasons\
-i kept changing my offer from 1 to 10 to 50k, on which he kept offering different items. also every time i closed trade window and talked to him again it opened trade window again.
-anyways, on nearly all these "bots" i got the same answers, they're conversations go something like this
>40k ok?
>40k
>??????
>ok. 36k
>36k ok??
>??????
>32k....
>32k....
>32k ok?
>bye
so i think they react to ammount+k and keywords like hilt, 10/10, sword, bow, unidentified etc.
so, when i started realising these were not normal sellers, i started talking nonsense and typing different ammounts of money......... this went on for a while (got some real nice items for ridicilous prices because of it :P )
untill (i think) the owner started following the trades. all of a sudden he started typing in between the bot lines, saying things like "gun" (after i said "you have a gun?" he said "yes i kill you" :P) and saying stuff in chinese or korean.
so when i figured this out, i started talking to all the main spammers with stupid names near the storage, opening trade windows and stuff......... and they all kept repeating the same lines over and over (although they wouldnt sell so much anymore)
Also alot of the bots had the same kind of name........... there was one group with 1 sur and a double last name (miss long long) (monk heal heal)
and there was another group which had similar names with a letter at the end. i cant remember the exaxt name, but it was something like "matao zusee A, matao zusee B, Matao zusee C"
so i personally i think its a set of bot guided chars, which are monitored by a few chinese ppl, selling items they farmed, to get the gold to sell on ebay
but i could be wrong ofcourse
anyways, i would like to hear if other ppl experienced this last night

Lions dist 1 is filled with people who have Angel as their last name.
Somehow they are able to spam the trade and local channels with:
WTS 15-22req9 Flamberge 20k
WTS 15-22req9 Long Sword 30k
WTS +30 HP Sword 90k
...
and so on, without getting the message "Being suppressed due to excessive messaging"
None of them speak english..

I think I encountered one of these last night in LA1 - I bought an enchanting pommel from someone named Nia Nia A.
First, "it" asked for a price...like 20K. Then I responded with 1K. And it said "15K ok?".
And I responded 1K.
It went through 10 iterations before it sold it to me for 1K. Obviously, I like the bots now.
