I forget. Really. I don't know.

The jacks should be in the back of your computer. It should be color coded and labeled with pictures. Also you ill need to download ventrillo or teamspeak. These programs will allow you to speak \over the internet. Also, both of these programs operate outside of GW.

No the only way you should hear yourself is if someone else has their sound going out through speakers instead of a headset which is called feedback and is not always fun to hear an echo.

well i tried the mic out on a recording from skype. the voice was so low i barely hear myself. when i heard the higher the db for a mic the better, i bought one with -58db. was this a bad choice? now i'm confused b/c i thought a -58 was better than a -40. was i stupid b/c i saw it in negs. but still thought higher would be in more negs. help anyone.

There is a checkbox somewhere in the Windows Sound Properties control panels (think you click a button called "Advanced" under your Microphone's Volume Slider..) that refers to boosting the Mic. gain... Sounds to me like you need to turn that on. Sorry the description is so vague, but that's the best I can do by memory..

There's also a "Test Hardware" button somewhere in there (think it's under "Voice") that will run a wizard that should help you test things.

It's the microphone balance on the windows sound console. I keep it off as it annoys me and reduces ffedback when your having convos, but if you really want it make sure it isn't muted.
