With the update, Dodge now has attribute based duration. With 14 expertise, it lasts 11 seconds and you have a 72% chance to evade moving at 33% faster speed. Escape{E} lasts 16 seconds and you have a 75% chance to evade attacks moving at 25% faster speed.
So for an elite slot, you get 5 more seconds, 3% more of a chance to evade and you move slower... Oh, and you can attack while using 'escape', but dodge ends if you attack.
I'm really happy that my ranger can stay in run stance indefinitely with just ranger skills now, but I have to wonder if Escape is going to go the way of the 'useless elites'...
Maybe if Escape also prevented knock down? I'm sure ANet's not playing to the runners, but I can't see escape taking an elite slot when dodge is so close.
And really, shouldn't 'escape' end if you attack, and 'dodge' allow you to attack? That's just wording, but whatever... =)
Is Escape elite anymore?

Dodge is for arrow attacks only. Escape is all attacks.

Why do I keep seeing people compare these two skills ever since the buff to Escape? Escape is much better than Dodge.
As Savio point out, Dodge only works against arrows, Escape works against all attacks... PLUS Dodge ends if you attack.

Either way, neither are very good for PvP IMO. Unless you're a flag runner, and then I agree, dodge > escape (if you need anything other than storm chaser). Honestly, I only see escape good for PvE running....

The problem with escape is the cooldown, if you want to be a flag runner or any type of runner, go R/W with charge instead of escape...

Ranger Running FTW!!
I have yet to try out any of the new buffs, but they seem nice. I'll probably be running people around later.

Are wand and staff attacks considered 'arrows'? I'm pretty sure that dodge dodges those too. Will have to test.
I still contend that 'escape' should end when you attack and 'dodge' should allow you to attack. What are the chance of skill renames? Heh...

I think it dodges "projectiles"
