Illusionary warrior build...
Tomo
Im sure most of us know the illusionary warrior build, but for those who dont:
Its a Mes/war
It uses the skill Illusionary weaponry, to continually hit out a certain damage
It normally uses a sword.
I was thinking, why not make a Mes/Ran ? with a fast bow, read the wind, maybe a spirit or two, you could deal even more damage.... Im not sure about skill usage with IW, but maybe even power shot etc ?
Also, if it was wanted, a pet could be included for extra attack.
I havent made this build yet, just wanted to clarify that it was possible. If something is wrong, please tell me. (Feel free to use this build)

Illusionary weapon is not that flexible, and is melee only. You can't increase its damage through any means that I'm aware of (you can increase attack speed a little bit of course).

IW is bad please dont run it

No you can't. IW removes your melee attack and replaces it by a touch skill with damage. Doesn't work with bows, nor wands, and damage enhancers such as power attack or conjure don't stack with IW.

Mes/War is a bad illusionary weapon build, as is mes/ranger. You'll be in melee range alot, so you want armor, and illusionary weapon or not, a mesmer primary will be a primary target and distortion can only help so much.
The absolute *best* illusionary weapon build I've used is the ranger/mesmer. You can either pump beast master and use tigers fury, or, as I'm inclined to suggest due to survivability and added utility, expertise, for its stances (take both, and moving fast is very important as a melee char). Throw dirt is nice to have too.
Oh, and use a sword or an axe. Meeting the attribute requirements won't matter at all, as you won't technically be hitting with your weapon. Switch to a wand for if it gets dispelled, and cary arcane echos so you can recast it if it gets dispelled 20 secs into the fight.

War/me.
Illusion 12
Tatic 8 + 1
Inspiration 10
Weapon. 2-6 dmg axe. (increase enchancement duration by 18%)
Flurry - Stance
For 5 seconds, your attack rate is increased, but you deal less damage.
Imagined Burden - Hex Spell
For 18 seconds, target foe moves 50% slower than normal.
Drain Enchantment - Spell
Remove an "Enchantment" from target foe. If an Enchantment is removed, you gain 18 Energy.
Energy Tap - Spell
Steal 12 Energy from target foe.
Sympathetic Visage - Enchantment Spell
For 22 seconds, whenever target ally is hit by a melee attack, all nearby foes lose all adrenaline and 3 energy. (increase enchancement duration by 18%)
Illusionary Weaponry {Elite} - Enchantment Spell
For 36 seconds, you deal no damage in melee, but whenever you attack in melee, target foe takes 34 damage. (increase enchancement duration by 18%)
Illusion of Weakness - Enchantment Spell
You lose 202 health. Illusion of Weakness ends if damage drops your health below 25% of your maximum. When Illusion of Weakness ends, you gain 202 health.
Res Signet - Signet
With this build you will start with 555 + 202 hp (miner vigor rune + pvp shield + illusion of weakness), with warrior's armor and pvp shield, you get very high dmg absorbtion. This build destorys all warriors. Any warrior face you Will get his mana drained, enchancement drained, can not gain any adrenaline, can not gain any mana, can not evade or block, can not run away. All he/she can do is swing with regular attacks for 7-14 per hit while you attack with illusionary weapon + flurry for 34 per swing.
But i delete this Illusionary warrior because
1. unable to kill a monk is worthless
2. when you get ur illusionary weapon drained, u are totally a trash.

IWs are good in Arenas because of the lack of debuff in those instances. But they are practically useless in Tombs / GvG since a simple enchantment removal will make you cry.

Meimi, you don't have energy problems with that build?
If you're worried about losing your illusionary weapon to enchant removal, there are two things you can do. As I said above, you carry arcane echos to recast after first remove, and you can also layer a second enchant on yourself, usually channeling, but if you're mesmer primary you can keep illusion of haste on yourself more or less permanently, of course, you'll only have enough energy to support this one spell, but being a permahasted illusionary swordsman is quite fun and effective.

I can always keep up my energy on my build, drain enchancement allows me to gain 8 energy and energy tap allows me to gain 7 energy. arcane echo wont work, cause it cost too much mana. Arcane echo 15 mana, Illusionary weapon 15 mana <gets dispell>, Illusionary weapon 15 mana, you wont have mana for it. Keeping a decoy enchancement makes me run out of mana too. Being a Menser/war is not effective as war/menser because your armor is weak so you have to keep up distortion. Once you keep up distortion you can not use flurry so your dmg will be weaker then warrior. Also Sympathetic Visage wont be effective because you have to get hit to make Sympathetic Visage effect trigger, but you evade 75% and it's not gonna effect.
ICURADik
Something much mor effective... War/Me. Have another monk(prefferably a smiting monk) cast Judge's insight on you. If you get hex, shatter hex and continue owning.

Why are people so incompetent? If your going to run iW, a few tips:
1) run a cover enchantment. Youve got points in illusion, so perhaps illusion of weakness. If your feeling flashy, than get TWO conver enchantments, another good one would be channeling.
2) dont run your whole build around iW. I see many, many iW builds that are effectively:
iW
dodge
heal
res
xxx
and the tactic is: activate iW and 'p00n every0ne'. dont do this. make a build that has a purpose, and doesnt actually need iW, but iW is of course useful to have. for example, a lot of people go anti warrior with this, since its armour ignoring, so take things like snares, soothing images, sympathetic visage and the like so that if iW gets removed your not a lump of docile turd. whatsmore, you dont need to be wa/me. me/wa is much better. for a start you get fast casting, which is useful to you. strength is not, since for it doesnt do anything, your not hitting anyone. The regen and pool size is also pitiful, so without spending the rest of your skillbar with energy management, it doesnt really matter. As for the al, if youre that worried get a mantra. 4 pips > 80AL (for a iW-eer).

He's also right. If you plan to build an actual attacking class around IW...you're going to be put to shame by a warrior.
Rii is right also.
While IW is a debatable skill overall, the beauty of it (if you can call it that, I'm being devil's advocate here) is that you need only to be specialised in illusion, have IW and flurry. Maybe a cover enchant. The point Rii is trying to make is that too many of these builds see IW, an IAS increase and think their work is done. You have to realise that you're only doing DPS in the 40s, and in doing so you get no spike capabilities, no conditioning, no buff stacking. If you get disenchanted you're left with your pants on the floor.
Me/W IW is the best because it not only does higher DPS than the other IW choices, but you are free to spread your attributes plus runes across the other lines. As a mesmer you have shutdown, degen, snares, drains. Get all of that, then put IW on top so you're dealing some damage. Therefore we have the blackout IW variant which happens to be my personal favorite.

My perfered IW build, now is Mes/Mo.... u loose the flurry, which i agree helps alot, but i love putting some into smite and using Scorched Healer on my target..., I run all illusion smite, with fastcast around 6... 16 illusion, 10 smite i think, not at system now, so smite might be alittle lower...
First i put IW, then SV on myself, then Scortch my target, then Phantom pain, if they have a quick healer, he will heal them or pull the hex, which will either hurt healer or inflict deep wound, the whole time i am cutting them to pieces.... I run with a Fiery Spitter of Enchanting, (its a axe that is gone, like HOD swords, axe with improve skills recharge 10%) and i run a Rockmolder 20/20.... My dmg can be up to 44 / attack with Rockmolder...
