I'm pretty sure that this is actually some content from the Japanese version of Guild Wars that wasn't put into the other versions.
If memory serves me correctly it was posted somewhere else on this forum and someone said we will never see it in the North American version.

if i were a game dev, i would do a lot to make the players like the game even more, so more people would buy it so i would get more money.
so yea, making something "japan" themed would be a good way to get people to buy the game in asia and stuff.

Its a convention showcase to show the features of guildwars, graphics, and selling points. You're right they did not make those new towns and armor for nothing, they made it as a presentation to get people from that region to buy guildwars.
P.S. Thats not a new world, thats Maguuma Jungle. That chineese model town was to show the graphical performance for guildwars and attract future players.

Its a convention showcase to show the features of guildwars, graphics, and selling points. You're right they did not make those new towns and armor for nothing, they made it as a presentation to get people from that region to buy guildwars.

Actually I believe those are chinese beta GW... as the name in the screen are in chinese while the armor is also chinese fashion.
Last time I check, they do not have chinese in any GW before they announce they going to launch it in Japan and Taiwan... Soon you won't see those TW and HK players spamming "mai jin woo chi" in ember light camp.
PS: I think he got mix up between NCsoft and squaresoft... oh, and squaresoft technically dont exist anymore (squareenix)

Yeah, I've heard from a lot of people, other than you guys, that this version is either only for China or Japan, considering the top-knot hair styles etc.
Also, the Cantha area will most likely be added in the upcoming expansion, and will possibly be bringing in completely new things such as new professions. All I can do is just guess.
