GW crash with ATI IGP 340m - laptop

I know this card is below the supported level, but I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problems I am. GW plays (and plays pretty good considering) on my laptop. However, it will randomly crash, sometimes just taking out the graphics acceleration, sometimes taking the whole system down. It doesn't seem to be a heat issue as I can sometimes play for several hours, and sometimes only for about 5 minutes before it happens (directly after a cold boot). I'm assuming it's just the poor card being kicked in the head by the graphics engine. I'm also experimenting to see if it's related to wired or wireless connections. Anyways, anyone else with the ATI IGP 3xxm chipset having any luck? My system specs below. As an aside, this lappy also plays Everquest, City of Heroes, World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XI with no problems other than abysmal framerate (although WoW is quite good in this area as is GW when it's full screen.)

HP ze4540us
Win 2000 SP4
DX 9.0c
ATI IGP 340m running Omega 2.5.90 drivers
512 megs with 64 shared to vid card
Celeron 2.4

It's no biggie if I can't play reliably on the laptop, but if there are any fixes or work-arounds, it would be great as I usually don't get to play on my big comp due to work/home schedules.

Same video card, same problem. Is there any ways around this? I'd really like to play on my laptop.
