Ever since Arena.net started to make droknar runs harder I haven't been able to get past outside beacons perch... Any elite runners able to help me with advice? Skills you use? any tips? Armor?

Here's a quick chestlist of things you should have before doing a Drak's run.
-Draknor's Armor, one piece with damage reduction, the rest with more physical protection.
-Superior vigor (strongly recommended)
-Superior absorption (strongly recommended)
-A shield with -2 or -4 damage resistance and large health bonus
-Weapon with +30 health or as close to +30 as you can afford
-Charge or sprint skills (charge strongly recommended--I believe you can't run both sprint and balance stance at the same time, but you can do charge since its a shout)
-Balanced stance (required)
-Some sort of self healing (healing sig is NOT recommended)
-Some sort of hex/condition removal (recommended)

Beyond that, practice. A lot. You need to know where the spawns are likely to be, where the safe points are, etc.

Right on... For the shield, you can probably get a crimson carapace collector with stance activation (It's still out there right?) since you'll be in stance 24/7 and monsters can't disrupt it. Also, it'll require a few practice runs to get used to the timing. Even the perfect running build won't get close to drok if you never rest.

if you aren't using healing signet I can only assume you're using mending or healing breeze, and frankly, if you're using either of those for droknar's runs.. yeah. wastes of skill slots.

I do Droknar Runs this is the kind of set up I use sense I am a W/N

1.Balanced Stance
2.Sprint
3.Charge (Elite)
4.Endure Pain
5.Healing Signet

Thats all you really need you can also do without the Charge Skill if you time it right. and sprint when they are at the edge of your agro circle. For easy Drok runs u use the combo of balanced stance and Charge. Another thing is timing things if your about to die use endure pain and run out of agro. and if your health is at 1 after it ends dont use healing signet or you will die, just let your health cycle up. Sometimes I like to have fun and spam, My Health is 1 of 559. heheh. Also knowing what enemies to avoid and which ones knock you down as well.

If you want to post any questions thier is specifically a scammer/runner site up. And if you become an offical drok runner you will need to watch out for scammers heh :P

Are you sure you were able to make the run before the update?

Another good suggestion would be to ask all the people your running to abandon all of their quests in that area, since you could run into more monsters than you would if you didn't have any quests on. They can always get them back anyway. They are looking for a run to drok anyway, so they won't mind restarting some quests later.

Was someone dropped on the head as a child?

Im sorry to hear that. Anyways, healing breeze is your best friend. You dont even need mending, its a waste of energy really, the -1 regen isnt worth it.

I run Forge 100%. There are certain times that I use mending(worms), and then simply take it off.

Because dude.

Maybe after beating the game 6-7 times we get sick of doing every single mission in order to reach the ring of fire.

Ok dude?

Also, to compete in the low level arenas, you need 1.5k droks or better armor.

If you dont have armor of that value, youre simply going to get owned in the low arenas by people like me who enjoy being able to power our way through the game, instead of having to do Aurora Glade and watch 567 cut scenes with the noobs.

Thanks,

Jodie

uh, no. they are wastes of skill slots. 14 strength, 13 tactics, I've made the run consistantly as a Warrior/Monk and Warrior/Mesmer, off and on since May. (pre-patch and post-patch)

hex removal and condition removal aren't even 'required'. don't talk to me like I don't know what I'm talking about.

if you bring mending and healing breeze, you're wasting at *least* one skill slot (not to mention attributes), that could be used on condition removal, hex removal, balanced stance, charge, sprint, endure pain, or healing signet. ALL of which are better to have than a +3 regen (at the cost of a pip of energy regen), or a measly 6 or 7 regen for 10 energy (for 10 seconds).

Well i do acouple runs almost everynight...I personally recommend doing duel runners now a days due to the updates. It makes the run easier, faster, and higher sucess rate.

Skills that my droks runner uses:
Sprint
Balance Stance
Charge(highly recommend* due to the fact u cant have sprint and balance on at the same time)
Endure Pain
Shields Up
Mending
Purge Conditions
Healing Sig

Atributes:
8 healing
12 tatics
12 strength

Armor:
I prefer Glads due to the +8 energy(doesnt seem like much but it is)
Sup absorb, sup vigor, minor tactics, minor strength

Also lil tip: Stay away from the ice imps and ice golemn; they are ur most threat...

Add a piece of ascalon or (knights?) armor instead of the glad boots or gloves. The 'reduces dmg from attacks' is global and stacks with the sup absorption rune, much more useful than the +1 energy the glads will give you

Duel runner? Nah.....You have too many points wasted in strength. Endure pain isnt really that good for running, it will get you killed more often than it will save you when it wears off. With only attrib lvl4 strength you get a 10 second sprint, combined with attrib lvl14 tactics (11 second charge) you can move 25% faster at all times.

Sheilds up? Nah dont need it either, thats what healing breeze is for. Healing breeze is really great do to its low casting time, and well as the ability to heal you while you continue moving. Signet is ok, but it has a long activation time, and is best used when your away from enemies(for a quick heal).

Here is my attribure and skill setup that allows me to run Drok's 100%. I do not die, ever.

Healing: 12
Strength: 4 (3 + minor rune)
Tactics: 14 (12 + minor rune and ascalon helm)

Armor: Glads, with ascalon helm, with major vigor and absorbtion(Buy superior if you have the money to burn). I do, however Id rather stockpile it than waste ~100k on a single rune.

Skills(In the order on my bar ive grown used to):

Healing Breeze
Healing Signet
Purge Conditions
Remove Hex or Smite Hex
Balanced stance
Sprint
Chagre
Mending

Like stated above, with only 4 in strangth and maxed tactics, you will be able to move 25% faster at all times. Most runs I dont even use healing signet, and if I do, im away from enemies where im just healing myself before continuing.

Its very rare that I even need to use Purge Conditions or Remove a Hex while on a run. There are really only 2-3 places you may need these.

Mending is great for the parts where you gotta get through worms. Instead of burning balanced stance, just use mending and let them knock you down while you continue to progress (Just remember to turn it off once youre past them in order to get the full potential from your energy). Once youre to a spot where there are enemies and worms, thats where you burn the balanced and then hit charge.

If slowed by golems, thats a great time for healing breeze. It will allow you to contine healing while moving forward. With attrib lvl12 healing prayers you get +8 regen from breeze.

Now knowing the build, and executing are two completely different things. Im sure this probably helped some of you. However, knowing when to use each skill, and exactly where to go on the runs is the most important thing. That is nearly impossible for me to explain(Go through the little cave thingy!).

If you need help, and are willing to pay a small fee for valuable information and direction, hit me up on the American server.

Name: Master Peee , lvl20 W/Mo.
