Lookin to get some help from people that know builds best.

I use mainly Blood Transfer/Siphon with plague touch W/N, and conjure frost W/E.

Im wondering what upgrades to put on my axe. Its Currently:

6-28
15>50
Axe mastery+1 (20%)
Icy Damage

Icy: I use mainly to ignore the extra phys resistance that people bring, and when i decide to use conjure frost, but i have been noticing im more effective as a pure warrior with plague touch than a conjure frost warrior.

Axe Mastery: I use because i want the highest DPS possible, and is the only offensive axe mastery grip and adds a few damage sometimes with executioners strike etc. I dont use +5 armor or 30 hp because as i said i go mainly offensive.

Comments on upgrades and what im considering:

using 3/1 vamp for +3 dmg a hit, although the phys armor ignoring is nice, and Icy is pretty undefended against.

using 10% furious for a little extra adrenaline, but i often dont use many adren skills with a sipon/transfer/agony W/N

using 20% enchantment grip for conjures, +hp necro skill, but sometimes i dont use enchanments.

Suggestions?

Vampiric or Zealous of Defense or Fortitude are the best combinations in my opinion, and the only mods worth running.

Weapon mastery mods are trash, and give you like a 1% damage increase overall. So I get +2 damage on my eviscerate 20% of the time, yay? No thanks.

zelous is one good mod,its actually faster than having 2pips of regen.

I like to run Zealous/Ebon + Fortitude Mods(I switch to Ebon when not chasing someone and for ingnoring physical armor - also no one seems to bring Resistance to Earth Magic armor)

Umm...since you're a W/N, wouldn't you actually be better off with a physical weapon (using furious or sundering rather than an elemental mod)? Seems like you're giving up a lot of symmetry between your other Necro skills (unless you're trying to interrupt by doing cold damage). Mark of Pain, Barbs, Order of Pain, Order of the Vampire -- all these trigger on physical damage.

There are only a few circumstances I'd use an elemental weapon -- If there were going to be some kind of symmetry with the rest of the group; If I were planning to do something odd with Conjure X; And...I guess that's it...

Also, you don't actually *ignore* much armor at all with an elemental mod, do you? There are only a few skills and spells that provide armor only versus physical attacks, and the most common ones ("Watch Yourself," Shield of Regeneration, Ward Against Harm) provide general armor against all attacks. The only time I can imagine you being *better off* with an elemental attack would be against a Mesmer using Physical Resistance (which actually lowers their armor against elemental attack...), and I can imagine you being much worse off if you happen to encounter an Elementalist with extra armor against whatever elemental type you're using.

So I'd suggest you use *anything* but an elemental mod on your weapon. You'll be better off in the long run.

Yeah, if you are inflicting any conditions with your weapon I'd suggest using the associated upgrade for that and keep the physical damage type.

That and also carry a Zealous, which is extremely usefull if running the energy intensive blood magic line of magic.

ok... i said no +defense and you said to use + defense, i dont use things like curses as blood magic is more effective IMO, and often im casting and chasing monks (get less hits in) so zealous isnt so great for me.

Im thinkin a vamp axe, as i can make up for - degen with blood magic, and get +3 damage a hit

so about the grip... no defense for me, no enchantments sometimes, but +weappon mastery kinda sucks....

Well, the +5 defense grip is the best one for 99.9% of situations, did you want people to lie to ya?

well usually we just bring a foci to add energy then just switches to a shield as soon as you see theyre coming for you. i also mostly use a defense grip since the fortitude costs a lot more than the defense. imo.

So my prefix will be Vampiric or Zealous, and im leanin toward defense upgrade since weapon mastery sucks so much
