some people have been telling me that they have changed the fow armor materials needed. like the necro fissure armor (not sure what its called) now costs shards, it used to only cost ecto, and monk asthetic now costs also shards along with ecto, please anyone know if this is true? thanks

monk ascetic armor (and I can only assume necro scars), still require only ecto. (well, not only, but only between ecto and shards )

I was there last night.

yes, there were ecto only armors. the monk and necro tattoo/scar equivalent armors did not need shards. as i have not seen the forgemaster since the update, nor do i go as a monk or a necro, i cannot confirm if they have changed this.

edit:
oops, someone beat my post.

No, as noted above, we were there last night, the "recipe" is the same as it has always been.

How on earth do you people get the resorces to buy fissure armor without losing your minds?

Is farming for over a hundred hours fun?

Id personally love to have it, but I cant even realisticly consider it an attainable goal because I hate repetitive gameplay.

Yes. It's a blast. Some people like it others don't.

If farming profited nothing, would it be fun?

If there where alternate ways to reap the rewards linked to farming, would one still farm for fun?

Is farming fun? Or is bring rich and unique fun?

The questions arent to propose that no one would enjoy repetitive proccessing. (obsessive compulsive people obviously do)
But that maybe, some people "enjoy" it because it is the one path avalibule to accomplish the high PvE achivement of being rich enough to look unique.

How many people have completely cleared UW and FoW?
Thats a hell of an achivement, yet few people are out braking thier necks to do it because you dont have anything to show for it if you do.

Anyone that accomplishes this should have something to show for it, and I bet you, if it was noticable enough, suddenly completing UW and FoW would be considered "fun" by more people.

So heres a hypothical question:

There are two options to get 105 ecto/shard neither of which envole ebay.

1.) Farm for ecto/shard drops and farm other places to get rich enough to purchase ecto/shard.

2.)Complete all of UW and FoW in one run apiece.

One is easy, time consuming and repetitive.
The other is hard, fast (well....faster in contrast to the other option), and only as repetivite as many times as you fail.

Which would you do to get fissure armor?

Pretty much a lot of people are rich due to the invinci monk era or that time where anet reset the prices at traders (ectos were as low as 300g each). To make money you gotta earn money first. I got my fow armor by profit (buy low sell high) and farming ectos via invinci monk/post patch monk era.

just farm sigils at hall, then buy the materials needed. Easier said then done.

Or get into a good guild. Then just go with them for tombs runs. Hopefully you'll get to be rank 6 eventually. Then you can just... PUG?
