How about a single gross minion health bar that has the cumulative health of all your minions? And an adjacent number would indicate the number of living minions it represents.
In that way you can monitor all your minions as "one" character. If you "select" the minion health bar for an enchantment - the enchantment will get planted on the strongest minion in the pack. Similarly, hex/condition removals will target a random minion. Maybe heals will target the "weakest" in the pack.
Fiends and horrors will have a separate "gross" health bar - so a minion master may have up to 3 health bars to monitor.
Of course, appropriate tweaks in the skills may be implimented so minion masters don't unbalance the game. But, at present, the complete absence of any minion/horror/fiend interface makes minion management unreasonably cumbersome. I'll confess I'm used to being a monk and I miss the ability to micro-manage party with the party menu . Even ranger pets get a health/status bar. It seems unfair that necros don't enjoy at least some of that ability.
Minion management mini menu (gross health bar concept)

Although I'm all for some way to manage minions I cant find it extremely feasible in just one bar :P
How about a style similar to strategy games when you select a bunch of your army their little icons appear in a sub menu below representing their health, similar to what we see in games such as WC3 or Battle Realms?

b) You'd have to have the ability to "drag" out a box to select - which may be awkward with GW with the dynamic camera rotations
a) You'd be selecting minions and enemies
b) Battles happen so quickly it's not as if you have time to divide the minions into 2 or more teams to issue different instructions IMO
c) A "drag" button to make a selection box would have to be assigned - probably not the right mouse button because only the necro would have a use for the "drag" feature.
that's just my opinion
