Odd Game issue
SirNack
When playing guildwars, sometimes the players pop around like popcorn. They dont walk, they sort of teleport to locations. So there is no walking animation, just dissapear and reappear in the location they stop at. I walk just fine though. I have noticed this happening mostly when i alt-tab out of the game, but have had it happen when i dont do so. Anyone know what would cause this?

Sounds like your network connection.
If your running off of a phone line, it could just be a bad connection. Contact your ISP and ask them if they can improve your performance. (Remind them that you are paying them for quality service.)
If your not running off of a phone line, it could just be your cable connection. Most are shared by an entire area, after 4 (when the kiddies and people get home from work and school) jump online, speed drops.
Firewalls and routers could also cause problems. Blocking or slowing down the flow of information that is needed to keep the game and placement of "people" properly.
Downloading files while the game is running could cause problems as well. Always keep your connection soley for GW. Their streaming network connection eats up a little more bandwidth then other MMO's, but increases their service and patching.
I'm a little more of a graphic / cpu person, so thats all I can offer up for now. It doesn't sound like a hardware issue. What are your computer specs?

I have cable 4mbits/300kb upload. I dont think it is a connection problem but i would not rule it out. My specs are a AMD XP 3200+, FX5700 ultra, 512 ram 3200. Interesting though is that this does not happen all the time. I dont notice that GW is using up 200mb's of memory. Yikes

I am running in DMZ. So i dont think it is the router.. I have recently did a reformat of my drive before buying GW

Did you check this out and try the solution they offered?
FAQ
Just go down a little bit, your card is listed in the problem list like all 5*00's.

Hmm... I have a feeling its just the card itself.
I was reading other posts like yours, and even with the change AN offered, they still had problems.
Hope there will be a patch in the future that will take care of this problem. I'll ponder over it in my spare time at work and see what I can come up with...

Its a good choice. I'm a fan of the GeForce 6600 series as well. Both are top quality right now.
Make sure you shop around for prices, seems lately a lot of vendors are either super high or very low. @_@

I've noticed this happening a lot too, even when I'm soloing out in an instance (so I wouldn't think network issues would be the culprit). I'll be walking along and click somewhere to go, then all of a sudden my character "teleports" there, freezes, and then I'll be able to move or act again when a few seconds have gone by– assumedly this "frozen" period is when my character is actually travelling to that spot even though it looks like she's already there.
I've got a good cable connection, a 3 Ghz processor, and a 6600GT... I wouldn't think hardware or connection would be an issue. =P
