Multiple Characters on One Account
Quickener
My son and I have a character on one account and to my dismay, we both share the same friends list and guild membership. Is there an option to remove this feature? If not, this is the first game I know of where you can't really have 2 distinct characters on the same account. It really stinks for a family situation like mine. Please help.

The guild and friends info is account based. So yes you will have to share with your son.

Yup, you're going to have to shell out another 50 for your son to be in his own guild and own friends list.

Why would they do this? Instead, they could have just included an option for sharing this information between characters. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get to know some of my son's friend.

I don't think they intended the account to be shared. (They are trying to make money you know) I've seen more complaints that there can be only 4 characters per account and that the complainer will have to buy another copy than I have of your situation. It's probably a good idea to keep an eye on your son's activities anyway.

otherwise 4 people could share 1 account 4 ways with 1 character/account
4x the overhead with 4 separate houses playing for the price of one
thats why they did it

Also prevents someone from joining another guild to steal secrets.

not to mention, if you have 2 accounts, (and 2 pc's) you, and your son can play at the same time.

They've got to make up for the no monthly fees somewhere. This is just one other way to pad their income, not to mention it is smart for the reasons previous posters here mentioned (guild spys). If you must have 2 separate players, either shell out the $50 (you can both log in using the same computer, just add account on the main screen) or deal with having the same friends, guild, etc.
