Things That Will Not Change

I'm rather surprised by all the suggestions to change very basic, core mechanics of the game.

The following is a small list of things you guys really shouldn't be suggesting as they will never change. I'll include a small explanation of why:

-Level Cap Will Always Be 20
(Guild Wars is a game of skill, not power. The level cap will more than likely not be raised. You have a limited amount of ability points to work with to customize characters.)
-Always have 8 Skills to Choose
(You need to pick and choose which 8 skills you are going to use for a mission as a strategy. More options means more variety which weakens the whole "be careful what you choose" policy)

Feel free to add to this list.

If he understands the game, he's quite sure. Anyone who isn't quite sure that the level cap will always be 20 is still a bit fuzzy on how this game works -- once you understand it, it should be obvious to you why raising the level cap would destroy the game. It undercuts everything the game tries to achieve in terms of balance and fairplay, while buying you absolutely nothing other than pointless number inflation.

The level cap will always be 20. You can quote me on that, any time in the future you like.

from GW itself and notice the word chapters

fron GW

Guild Wars, in contrast, is based around your skill as a player. Our maximum level is twenty and you hit that very quickly, after about 20-30 hours of play. ,We call that 'The Point of Ascension'. Almost all of the content in the game and in the future Chapters is only available to Ascended characters, which means we don't have to worry about providing different levels of content. All the good stuff will be available to everyone. It's not our intent to force people onto the levelling up treadmill, so the level cap in Guild Wars is almost meaningless.
