Guild Wars - Release 10,619

Major Concerns
* NPC, Mobs, Item names can be seen at all times when you are near, even through objects. If a building is blocking the view of NPC, I shouldn't be able to see their name through the building. Item names shouldn't be visible unless I rollover them with my mouse.

* Player emotes need sound effects! This will make cities and outposts seem more alive. I should hear other players laughing, crying, sighing, etc.

* More sound effects! Players that are running around me should make footstep noises. NPCs should have a good handful of generic welcome greetings. Inventory should have sounds for moving, placing, and destroying items. Etc, etc, etc.

* When I use a skill that leaves an effect on a mob, the "down-arrow" isn't enough to indicate what they are suffering from. Mob health and selection should be expanded to include ailments, among other details. A mug shot might be nice too.

* Quest mini-map markers are too small. WoW had this problem at first too. Learn from their mistakes!!! I would also consider a different color, as green represents "friendlies". Perhaps a purple or magenta.

* Quest markers should be displayed on the main map as well. Why only restrict this to the mini-map?

Minor Issues
* I keep seeing screenshots of the previous interface (in the manual) that have a whole different look. IMHO, this interface looks tons better than the current one. While perhaps the current is less typical and more original for a fantasy game, the prior just looks like it fits better. Perhaps at the least give players interface skinning options!

* Choose a better font! What is this, Courier?!? Com'on, gotta be something better for object labels than something that looks like a system font.

Cheers!

I don't see npc or pc names till I roll them over with my mouse. Perhaps there's an option to set it like that somewhere. As for weapons and items, too much searching and annyonce (sp?) if you had to follow a battle down a ways and then come back for your drops. Something drops an awesome item, but you have to finish the fight, then can't find it cuz it's in a bush. I have to vote for a disagree there.

* Player emotes ...sighing, etc.
Agree, but, I'm not really going to complain if they don't get added. Their fun but they are just emotes.

* More sound effects...
It'd be nice, but only if they added a way to turn them off. This game is meant so people on low end systems can still run it, and all of those could bog down a low end system.

* When I use...
Disagree. Many time's, a boss mob or another player can wind up with 7 or 8 enchantments, hexes, and ailments. It would take too much room to list everything a mob has.

* Quest mini-map markers are too small...
I've never had a problem with this, and if it aint broke, why fix it? Making the mini-map too full could be a problem.

* Quest markers...
Definite Disagree. I love it how it is, it keeps the quests interesting. You have a vague idea of where something is, just to point you in the right idea. The fun is exploring, and figuring out where you have to go, instead of just being handed it.

Definately, they look silly laughing and having no sound coming out.

Big yes on this one, I'm always forgetting what i've cast

Couple of suggestions:

- Team mate makers on the minimap and arrows for when they are not in you close vicinity would be most welcome

- Ability to move the camera without changing the direction of your char (im sure it said it somewhere in the manual you could by holding shift)

- Larger text in general, or one that's easier to read

Im sure I'll think of some later, but that's it for now
