Favor Stats End Of Sept-10-09-05

I read that as 'broken'.

In my mind it's a silly system. But 'broken' would mean something is actually wrong with it, like actually being unfair. It's not unfair- a team from Europe has the same chance to take favor as a team from America. It sucks for PvE'ers in Europe and Korea simply because they don't have enough good PvP teams to keep favor as much. It's not a game flaw.

I see tons and tons of euro's on our american servers, have a few in our guild as well....

But, i personaly think quite a few should "migrate" back with the way things are going. Just yesterday i went to hoh twice, won once with a euro team... but guess who's server they're on? I'm sure you guessed correctly...

I see it as a matter of "Damn, i suck... i don't want to compete for the favor..." "Perhaps i'll just switch to american districts"...

Or, it comes at this matter, which i've heard really sucks over there "Damn, this lag is horrible!!" "Forget this, i'm switching to american districts"...

Or, another one... "My friends/guild is on the american server..." "I guess i'll just switch over there so i can play with them."...

Either way, i know if i was on a euro server, i would switch too... (even if i used the "Very stupid idea"...)

My view of favour and access to UW and fissure is that everyone should start with a set amount of time they can play in the bonus areas a day, that is increased by your server wining HoH.

I think it's the 'all-or-nothing' approach that causes the most problems - it's not like europe never wins HoH, just that it rarely wins it enough times to actually get favour for any sustained period, or when they do it's not always at peak EU times.

Nice post, saw you in warcamp before, mesmer FoW is easily the best looking.

It would be nice to be able to get into FoW and UW all day, but it would be much harder to get teams, as it is, as soon as we get favour everyone floods to ToA so you get a mass of people going into FoW and UW, they play for a couple of hours, then get bored and leave, so if we have favour for an extended period of time we just lose the capacity to form teams, like tonight for example, "Power of My Ranger" has been on a rampage all nite, USA has had little chance to take favour, but in ToA we were down to 1 district for a while, and most of them were looking for defend kryta or Galrath.

Also when i did manage to get a trapper team for UW half of them dropped from error 7's, which ive heard has been going on all day, i was having lag myself.
I was using US servers on a second account for a while, without being too offensive i must say that the American servers are full of hypo kids, 3-4 times more than ive ever seen in EU servers, they just seem to want to type in capitals and generally be a w/mo.
So its either, be treated like a second class player or be surrounded by morons.

I don't know if anyone has posted this or not in the past, although I am sure someone has... but this seems like a simple solution to me: why not allow any region to go to UW/FoW at any time, but if you do not have favor at that time, you must make some other kind of compromise. For example, your team must pay 2500 to get in instead of 1000. The gods do not favor you, so they require a higher donation to show your devotion. Wouldn't this make sense? Of course, that is just one example and other "compromises" could be possible. Maybe you could still get in, but not from the statues at ToA - you'd have to go to one of the other statues of Balthazar or Grenth out in the wilderness to get in. Now, that may not be practical, considering quite a few of the statues are not in 8-person team areas. But you can see where I am going with this. Make it possible to get in without favor, but harder or more expensive to do so.

Reading such a moronic answer to a problem that has been rampant for so long, I'm quite happy that 37 people from our guild decided to move to the american server at the beginning of october.

Alex, stop lying. You don't care at all about what European players ask about, you only care for the american players. If it was Europe who almost always had favor for the last months, you would quickly have put up a "fix" to allow americans to access FoW and UW more often.

im happy they left too. this guy takes time out of his schedule to tell the community that anet 'has its ears on' and you call him a moron and a liar in one post. i understand your frustration and all but your tactics are uncouth at best.

If they were such considerate about us europeans, they would at least have a representative of Anet to actively participates in our forums as they are doing in the english languages ones.

Alex Weekes and Gaile Gray are actively interacting with the english speaking players in the english official fansite forums (which are mostly populated by american users....). So all american player can directly interract with someone from Areannet.

NO ONE from ArenaNet is participating directly with the fans in any of the 3 french official fansite forums. So NO french players can directly interract with someone from ArenaNet.

If they did so much care about us, they would have at least hired someone to interract with us... When you care about someones, you take direct discussion with them. It's not by reading some summary of the disscussions happening there that they will give us the feeling that they "care" about us french players.

Perhaps that is because they dont speak french, i could complain saying they dont spend enough time on welsh forums communicating with us, but instead you gotta understand that they dont have the time nor the linguistic skills to go around every single guild wars forum saying the same thing in all different languages.

One win from any team should allow 15 or 30 minutes entrance to the FoW/UW for that nation, even if the other nations have favor.
For example, if America had favor it would retain it until it lost five times in a row to another nation. If Europe wins once from America, but still four away from taking complete favor, then it should get 15-30 minutes to be allowed to enter UW/FoW. The entrance window should be refreshed with every victory.

Seriosly how much would it cost to hire somebody who can speak french and english to do a bit of translating, even for only a day a week?


Weather it is intedned or not, european players are made to feel like they are in 2nd place. This may not be the case but there has simply been too much talk and not enough action on this issue.

I would REALLY like this issue to be sorted simply so that euro players come back to euro servers, they are starting to get really empty on the end game missions.

Bottom line is, favor is dumb. Why should PvP interfere with two favorite PvE questing locations in such a drastic manner? Like I said in another post, make it cost more when u dont have favor, say 10K, but don't remove access ffs, that's just illogical. There is enough people doing PvP, not like this whole favor thing is needed to sustain it. Really, favor- the way it is now- is extremely annoying.

If they translate for French, then they would have to do it for Spanish, Italian, German, Korean, etc...

That would be expensive. I dont see the use in doing it for a day or two. It would have to be constant or they may as well not do it at all (like now).
